Can anyone add to these stories? Details are non-existant.
 
WWL didn't renew Dawn Brown's contract. Obviously having 4 staff meteorologists is a lot for any station.

I didn't understand why Laura Buchtel worked in the morning, then the guy worked the noon and 5 shows and Carl worked 6-10. It would seem Laura could work 4-12 and Carl could work 5-10, or some schedule. But, they'll probably do something stupid like 6-day weeks.

She said she's going to stay in the market. Maybe they'll try to work out a lower salary or part-time/fill-in work through hurricane season.
 
According to the rumor mill, Belo has mandated about 20 layoffs at wwl-tv. The bloodletting has just begun, as only about a half-dozen folks, mostly in the production department, have been eliminated. Watch for WWL to go out of the commercial production business. Belo never wanted it to begin with.
 
Thanks for the info, guys. I was out of town and out of touch most of last week till Sunday so this was all new to me when I returned. Thanks again.
