RIght after their POWER INCREASE (I'm guessing here '81?)...you heard nothing but BJ-105 all up & down the beach in Daytona during Spring break.
"Hometown Countdown" was really a syndicated package (believe it or not). It was produced so that local stations could make it appear as if it was a local show, but it was syndicated.japman said:Didn't Kevin Casey do a home town countdown on Friday afternoons in the late 80s. Seems like it got shutdown or renamed because someone else owned the "home town" phrase.
John may know more aabout this than I do. The last I heard - and this was about 4 years ago - was that Kevin's health had a taken a very bad turn for the worse.DIZ Guy said:Whatever happened to Keven Casey???????
Terry went on to a very succesful career (and a helluva a nice guy, BTW). He worked for Scott Shannon in NY for awhile. I think he also was in Dallas for a stretch. We used to stay in touch, but I haven't heard from him in 5 or 6 years.vadar said:whatever happened to Terry Foxx. Went on to Chicago at B96, then I heard Nashville?
Anyone, Bueller, anyone?
DIZ Guy said:Hey meanspirit, I really do not think that AGE has anything to do with it. XL 106.7 just plain sucks ass, along with 900% of any other CHR in the country. I mean, c'mon, you ever listen to XL?????, it just plain SUCKS!!!!..Back in 88', the jocks at BJ-105 knew what they were doing, and back then, CHR music was , well, MUSIC... Yea, some of it sucked at times, but at least it was MUSIC..
CHR radio now is just plain crap. All of the jocks look like they are stuck in the late 90's, you know with there Backstreet Boy hairdo, and they sound like 100& pure cheese....Don't even get me started on that Dick Clark wannabe Ryan Seacrest....And the so-called music....YIKES!!!!!!!
