BJ 105 in 1988 or XL 1067 in 2008? Pick your poison

i remember listening to bj105 in the late 70s, bill barber at time, terry - last name escapes me - middays, barry michaels in the morning. i used to win stuff off bill barber during his nighttime shift. they gave away tickets to the disney boogie back to school parties...

dave edwards worked 3-7 shift. he was the guy who delivered the news that elvis had died......i was a sophomore in high school.

Definately BJ-105. I have worked in and out of radio for the past 8 years, and this was the first station that ever caught my attention..

I have VERY fond memories of driving down Palmer Avenue in Winter Park when I was just a little kid, hearing tunes like "Allentown", "Billie Jean", or a great cut NOBODY plays anymore "I Don't Care Anymore" from Phil Collins...Songs actually existed back then. Now it is all just audio porn.

BJ-105 had two great eras in my opinion, 1978-1983, and 1986 until Mix came (Y-106 being dominant between 83-86)...

Anybody remember how cool it used to be to listen to Casey Kasem all Sunday afternoon around 80-85????

i remember listening to casey kasem every sunday afternoon from 2-6 on WLOF in my junior high years, about 73-76 or so.

Q105 in tampa is playing the old casey kasem shows from the 70s from 8-11 on sunday mornings. I have been listening and hearing tunes you just don't hear on the radio anymore....gems like the streak, ray stevens, don't give up on us - david soul, billy don't be a hero - bo donaldson - ain't gonna bump no more with no big fat woman - joe tex.

CC is killing radio nationwide. Trying to save money by making all stations across the country a clone of each other. What a shame. Switch to satellite. There are zero to little commerical interruptions and it's all syndicated too. Local used to be the best feature of radio. I too am sick of hearing shows out of TX or NY.

His name is Terry Long. I used to know him; nice guy.

American Top 40 was run on WLOF in the 70s from 12-3pm and CK101 ran it from 1-3pm. I used to prefer to listen on CK because it was stereo.

This seems sort of out of whack.... you hate CC for killing localism, but love satellite which is 100% syndicated and the only hint at localism is the traffic channels? Now of course, the music is programmed FAR better on Satellite since they have more bandwidth to push out niche streams - but your reasoning is a little off.

Does anybody here remember when exactly BJ-105 stopped playing AT40 from 2-6pm on Sunday Afternoons????

I seem to remember it disappearing around July 4th, '85.....I also recall that it was around that time that the old I-100 Daytona began playing it from 12-4pm on Sunday afternoon....

Man, I miss the days of listening to that show on Sunday afternoon....

Didn't Kevin Casey do a home town countdown on Friday afternoons in the late 80s. Seems like it got shutdown or renamed because someone else owned the "home town" phrase.

ending the show and talking about "The Lady In Red" being up next. I guess she wore an all red outfit that day. The

It used to air Friday Afternoons from 3-6pm and Sunday mornings from 10-1pm. That was a good show.

I remember listening to it Sunday Mornings around 87/88....
