Bluejacket primary home "97.1 The Fan" (cough.. were still on AM 1460 too)

Re: Bluejacket primary home "97.1 The Fan" (cough.. were still on AM 1460 too)

Hey, now the games won't sound muffled hahaha. I do think it's a much better fit for it to be on 97.1 and that am station that is located in Columbus, yet manages to not clearly cover one bit of it. Kudos to the Blue Jackets for getting a major station........the fm one.

Called this one as soon as they flipped about a year and a half ago. I just didn't know when the contract was up. I'm not a hockey fan myself, so it won't make much of a difference to me. Really, the only CD101 did was air the games. The coaches shows and Breakfast with the Bluejackets were always on 97.1 anyway.

Yeah, I enjoy the BJ radio announcers more than the FSN ones.

1460 was the home for most of the Indians games last season.

I'm a Reds fan here in Columbus and don't know what I would do without WLW coming in to clear 24/7. You get the games and the postgame shows every night until midnight.

Indians fans on the north side of Columbus can't even hear the games clearly after dusk since 1460 is unlistenable and WTAM out of Cleveland is spotty at best.

There was a while in the 1980s and 1990s when the Indians didn't even have an affiliate in this market, and at least some of the small outlying stations that now carry the Indians used to carry the Reds (I know WLOH in Lancaster was one of them). The Indians might have more network stations in central Ohio, but with WLW's powerful signal there's no question which team it's easier to listen to.
