BOEING'S SELF SERVICE MEMORIAL DAY AD ON NATIONAL TELEVISION

In one of the most self service ads I have ever seen on commercial television Boeing Aircraft Engine Company has to be the worst. They memorialize those veterans who have died in our modern wars.Yeah, well Boeing as a major supplier of military jet aircraft engines has too much blood on its corporate hands to now come in praise of our veterans. Boeing is a BIG part of the Military Industrial Complex that President Dwight David Eisenhower railed against in his fairwell address in 1960. Boing on this Memorial Day weekend with it self serving drivel confirms the old lie: "Dulce Et Decorum Est Pro Patria Mori."Death mongers like Boeing deserve our condemnation.

While I have not personally seen the ad you refer to, I must takeexception with your line of reasoning. Boeing is a manufacturer, that's it...It does not force governments of the world to use its products to kill, maim, or otherwise cause destruction. That decision is STRICTLY up to government leaders. Applying your line of thinking, why don't you railagainst Colt, Smith & Wesson, Winchester, Browning, Beretta, and a hostof other arms manufacturers who build handguns, rifles, etc. Take it onestep further and condemn General Motors, Ford, and Chrysler becausepeople get killed in their vehicles, including Hummers. As far as Boeing is concerned, think about the number of lives that have been saved because of the quality and safety of their products. Airlines and governments around the world want Boeing products because of their innovation, reliability, and safety record. Again, these companies, Boeing included, are just product manufacturers. Whether or not their products are used for peaceful andsafe purposes is strictly the decision of the purchaser. Stop and think.Did someone ever FORCE you to buy and use a product against your will??

Take exception if you will to my thoughts on Boeing. It is still the big lie in which they - Boeing profiteer:"Dulce et Decorum est Pro Patria Mori !"

Boing?I have never heard of the Boing Aircraft Engine Company.

Sorry, the system will not let me correct the original spelling error. Of course it should be Boeing. :-[ Hope they revise this board to make it user friendly which it is not at the present.Moderator's Note: Just added the E for you in the subject line. ;)

Again, please note the new system will not let you correct spelling errors after you post or reply to a following post. Usual a good speeller... ;) but my word processor types mistakes.... :)
