Boogity boogity boogity! What happened to the NASCAR radio broadcasts?

I have been looking for the MRN and PRN race broadcasts that have been carried by 680 WPTF since the start of the 2011 season, when they moved from 94.7 QDR. Is WPTF still airing the races, or, if not, who picked them up? They're not on QDR or B93.9 either...?

The only Raleigh-Durham affiliate listed on the MRN website is WKRX 96.7 from Roxboro, which may or may not have a good signal in the Triangle. PRN lists both WKRX and WPTF 680, and I'm guessing its in-date because it also lists WEND 106.5 from Charlotte which they just added this year.

WBAG Burlington if it's during the day. For night races, most Raleigh-area residents can forget that one.

The News & Observer did not list any stations for the Daytona 500.

I seem to recall WEGX 92.9 in Florence SC is an affiliate. That's one of the strongest stations in the eastern part of both states.

Update! In Raleigh and the surrounding area, if you can only listen to the NASCAR broadcasts on the radio, all you need is an HD receiver, according to the March 8 News & Observer. I haven't seen the March 1 paper yet.

From WPTF's Facebook page: their contract with NASCAR ended in January, so apparently the RDU market no longer has an MRN or PRN affiliate :( B93.9, here's your chance to snatch it up...

Nope... Between Pulse on 96.9 and the Buzz translator for Durham on 96.5, 96.7 won't come in too well at all :( where I am I would have better luck pulling WAKG 103.3 out of Danville VA, and that station is itself a rimshot in this area. I still think B93.9 should try to pick them up...

Rock 103 in Fayetteville picked the MRN/PRN broadcasts up when WKML's contract expired and I've been able to pick them up as far out as Cary/Apex on a clear day. B93.9 or hell, even WRDU would be a great option to cover the rest of the Triangle.

I saw the March 1 paper yesterday and the HD station was listed.

I saw the March 15 paper but can't remember whether it was there.

I guess your best option is HD.

You can find the races on The Big Dawg 98.5 Rocky Mount.
