Boston's WRKO-AM 680 to Debut The Grace Curley Show

we know air will rush into a vacuum... so maybe ideas from others rush into the space between her ears

For two days in a row now, I tried listening to Grace; I really did. But the audio is so muffled that most of the "intelligibility" is not present. I tune away after about 5 minutes. Can't 'RKO give its remote hosts better quality lines or laptops or mics?

Grace works for Howie. Howie is a syndicated show distributed by Westwood One. They have their own studios. If you watch her on Facebook or YouTube you can see their studios. When Howie comes back from Florida he is there too. WRKO is just an affiliate just like the others and air the shows off satellite.

She doesn't work for WRKO, does she? As I've asked before, was this audio also muffled on the other stations in the network?
As has been attributed to Ronald Reagan, "There you go again!" defending iHeart, since nothing is ever their fault. Noticed the degraded audio on BZ in general, but especially on their PM drive traffic reports, or on Dan Rea's nightly broadcast?

Dan and the Total Traffic reporters are broadcasting from their homes due to Covid.

Talk1200 is nothing but filler today, SMH, seems every 4 minutes there's a "something you should know with Mike Curruthers"...SMH. What happened to decent, quality radio???

I was under the impression that Carr and his wife were syndicating their shows themselves. Carr does not appear and on the Westwood Obe page and I am surprised that they would spend the time and money trying to sell his show given his long track record of not being able to clear the show outside of New England with the exception of one station in Florida.

Ditto. It's the HCRN (howie car radio network) why would he be part of Westwood One? When his show comes on nothing is mentioned about it being a W.O. radio station. His wife is the president of HCRN and sometimes takes the twit with her when she travels to meet potential sponsors, etc.

And for just 158.00 per person Howie will let you come to the studio enjoy a box lunch and maybe if you are nice you will get a copy of one of Howies books as a parting gift. Who would drop 150 bucks to watch a guy talk into a microphone? Although several years ago I was at the RKO anniversary party at McCormick . As I was with a small group of radio people talking to Howie and Sandy I noticed two guys across the room standing in awe of Howie. I walked over to them and they told me they couldn't believe they were they were so close to Carr. I asked if they would like to meet him. You would have thought they has just met Elvis.

I am not a big fan of Howie's product but like Sean Hannity both are very nice guys off air.

It's a good racket if you can get it! I've never paid for it, but the food is usually good (more like a buffet rather than a box lunch), and they do the traditional studio tour/meet & greet/a collection of Howie's merch, and photos.

Looks like Grace's VIP experience is perhaps more engaging (seems like she always chats with folks during the breaks, whereas Howie tends to spend the time doing more research during the first half of the show). She's very personable and seems to value listeners, advertisers, etc.

I'm not aware of HCRN being affiliated with Westwood. I think back in the day, someone affiliated with WCRN handled the syndication?

It's kind of like when one record label says "distributed by {other} records". Or when a film finds a "distributor". The originator still maintains ownership, but uses the other for their distribution infrastructure.
