Boston's WRKO-AM 680 to Debut The Grace Curley Show

I suspect WHMP's line up will have about as much success as Air America.
Air America did not fail because it was liberal; it failed because the hosts were too intense and almost totally un-entertaining.

WHMP is on several freqs including 1240 Greenfield as is owned by Saga. Saga has some
stations running Howie and/or Grace. They also
own 1490/106.9 WINQ Brattleboro VT which simulcasts country WINQ Winchester NH; that 1490 had also been progtalk for years as WKVT

It’s Northampton, for goodness’ sakes, a very liberal stronghold, what else could you expect?

First thought that entered my pea-brain.

Then was the deletion of Grace Curley also not a local decision?
It was a locally influenced decision. The considerable audience blowback drifted all the way from Northampton to Michigan, whence the approval to restore Thom Hartmann to his previous time slot was vouchsafed.

It's a small market in very liberal territory, not far from the five colleges. It MAY have more of a chance than if it were Boston.
Not only is Northampton not far from the five colleges, it is home to one of them. (The gates of Smith are a few blocks from City Hall and a short walk from WHMP.)

WHMP has been successful with a mostly liberal lineup for eons after Air America stopped being a thing. Plus they're increasing local news coverage. They'll be fine.
