And since this was posted yesterday, another .09 inch of rain has fallen bringing the September total to 5.72 officially at DFW Airport.

Remember 1980 and the seemingly endless days of 100-plus temperatures?

That summer, I returned to college and stayed with my grandfather who did not believe in wasting money on air conditioning.
