Breaking News Atlanta for all the 92.9 Dave FM fans

Breaking News: Well at 1st we all know that 92.9 Dave FM is flip to sports 10/1/12 or this week but there alittle good news for the people at Atlanta and Dave FM fans out there. From the long time dave-fm music director Margot Chobanina is making a NEW internet radio station coming this November 2012. The new station is called EAVradio (East Atlanta Village radio) They have thier fb page up and running @ http://www.facebook.com/yahoo#!/EaVradio

It's a long shot as corporate radio in this town could care less about variety, but since they apparently care less about HD radio judging by the total lack of programming, any chance Dave FM might return on 92.9HD? They already run Dave Roots on their HD2 now. I asked on their Facebook page what would become of their HD2 after the flip to sports vomit but no one knew.

I know I'm in the minority owning an HD receiver, but it would be nice to actually get something more than the same crap on the analog dial on HD, which is what Ibiquity advertised as being the whole point of buying one to begin with.

I bought my first HD radio back when there was still Lite 94.9. The reason I decided to purchase one was mainly because Cool 105.7 had flipped to Viva and oldies were then on 94.9 HD-2.

Back then, I found several other HD-2 stations I enjoyed including 94.1 HD2. It was mostly 80's and on Friday night's the still had "Friday Night 80's" on HD2 like it used to be on Star 94.

I also enjoyed listening to WSB-AM 750 on WSRV 97.1 HD-2. Some of the ads and during Christmas, the music they played was in stereo.

One can only hope that DAVE-FM will moved to 92.9 HD-2 but I'm not holding my breath anymore over what will happen next in Atlanta Radio.

It seems that corporate radio has thrown in the towel on doing anything useful with HD radio in this market. They just use it to feed translators as a way to suck up vacant FM channels and use Radio Assist Ministry to squat and move in translators so they can provide us with more GREAT programming, you know, like this turd box known as Q100 top 20.

Very little unique programming that Ibiquity promises is available in this market, just more stale stuff or nothing at all. In other markets HD is apparently more programmed, like NYC. But we can NEVER expect that in THIS market. SMH.

I totally agree. Haven't really given the HD-2's a listen in other cities here in the south but I can tell you there is more variety in the midwest and NE parts of the country. Majic 105.7 in Cleveland plays oldies from the 50's/60's on HD-2 and the AC in another city up that way plays Smooth Jazz.

Here, we get the same ole thing and I tell anyone who's thinking about buying a HD radio not to waste their money on it.
