Wow! Congratulations to Margery!

Did she get "buy out" at the Herald?
They should get rid of Jacoby as soon
as possible.

Breaking news? Really? Sounds like the news already broke. This isn't local TV.

Magpie not too well loved by social conservatives
judging by comments on Herald site. She will
continue on Tote Bag Radio (from their Taj Mahal
studios on Guest St...champagne wishes and caviat
dreams). I guess it's not as bad as when Barnicle
got picked off the waiver wire by the Herald.

Herald survives and in fact earns the Globe some
money because they print it. How's the Boston
Phoenix doing? It was bad news for Mindich when
the Escort ads went online instead. Then Steve
showed his respect to the Occupy Movement by
selling WFNX to Clear Channel.

Since when was Steve Mindich a loss to anyone. He is a man of few word..... all FOUR LETTERS !!!!!

PS Mindich is a pig.

Your posts here all seem to be personal attacks and have little to do with radio, except in some generic way. Hard to believe you ever worked in b'casting. Or maybe we now understand why you never lasted?

I don't know why you come on this site? Is it all about you...the people you dislike, your politics, your formats, etc. Or do you have any broadcast concepts you care to discuss.

Those of us in broadcasting know that there are many diff kinds of people in the world.

You call other people names...yet you continue to post personal attacks under the cover of anonymity. At least they are man enough to not hide.

If you ever met or work with Mindich you would not disagree with my observation. Broadcasting attracts the best and tw worst...Mindich just happens to be the worst.Sadly, they stand out from the many hardworking broadcasters and the people behind the curtain who are total professionals. Where do you stand?

It was just ironic how the Phoenix and WFNX were so pro-Occupy, anti big corporation, and he sells to Clear Channel. At least Steve did give us the paper and the station(s) for awhile, but ad woes and other choices for entertainment killed off both the paper and station(s). Now the one time alternative freq is giving us country and CC is about to launch country in Pittsburgh (while prob relegating cons. talkers to a weak AM station). We've gone from Molly-using young people listening to EDM to binge-drinking young country fans (17-28 yrs old generally, raising their Red Solo Cups and getting blitzed before a Keith Urban show at Xfinity Center). No, the Bull sure ain't playin' Dust On the Bible,
Jolene, Ghost Riders in the Sky, or even Achy Breaky Heart.

Marge

Haven't seen the Herald in years. That's not a knock just the reality of the newspaper biz. As for the broadsheet I'm strictly on online reader and never columns.

If El-Globeo get rid of Jacoby and replace him
with Margie that certainly a net-plus and long overdue.

Egan's Boston Globe column will be end tagged with the notation that Margery Egan is co-host with Jim Braude of "Boston Public Radio" on WGBH -FM 89.9 M-F 11A-2P [Come September]
How is that?

Someone going from Herald to Globe, almost like a NY Yankee, boo hiss...hey wait, got traded to Red Sox--hey, welcome! I'm a fan! Tho if it were Howie not so much... she was with that eeevil paper, but wait now she's with the Globe so hey big win for them eh

Yes! That certainly is a BIG win! <tongue planted firmly in cheek>

The wording of her hiring is interesting. The Globe company has made a point of separating the paper from Boston.com. Eagan, however, is being billed as a Globe columnist while writing for a website.

"Longtime Boston Herald columnist Margery Eagan has joined The Boston Globe as a columnist for its forthcoming Catholicism-news website, Crux."
