Brian McGrory, the Editor of The Boston Globe just announced on WGBH's Egan and Braude's daily talk show ( 12N-2P) that Margery Egan has left the dying Boston Herald and is becoming a Boston Globe columnist.

Magpie not too well loved by social conservatives
judging by comments on Herald site. She will
continue on Tote Bag Radio (from their Taj Mahal
studios on Guest St...champagne wishes and caviat
dreams). I guess it's not as bad as when Barnicle
got picked off the waiver wire by the Herald.
Herald survives and in fact earns the Globe some
money because they print it. How's the Boston
Phoenix doing? It was bad news for Mindich when
the Escort ads went online instead. Then Steve
showed his respect to the Occupy Movement by
selling WFNX to Clear Channel.
Since when was Steve Mindich a loss to anyone. He is a man of few word..... all FOUR LETTERS !!!!!

PS Mindich is a pig.
Your posts here all seem to be personal attacks and have little to do with radio, except in some generic way. Hard to believe you ever worked in b'casting. Or maybe we now understand why you never lasted?
I don't know why you come on this site? Is it all about you...the people you dislike, your politics, your formats, etc. Or do you have any broadcast concepts you care to discuss.
Those of us in broadcasting know that there are many diff kinds of people in the world.
You call other people names...yet you continue to post personal attacks under the cover of anonymity. At least they are man enough to not hide.
A loss for the Trashy Tabloid and a win for the Boring Broadsheet! Ha ha!
A WIN for Boston Public Radio 89.7
How is that?
Egan's Boston Globe column will be end tagged with the notation that Margery Egan is co-host with Jim Braude of "Boston Public Radio" on WGBH -FM 89.9 M-F 11A-2P [Come September]
The wording of her hiring is interesting. The Globe company has made a point of separating the paper from Boston.com. Eagan, however, is being billed as a Globe columnist while writing for a website.
"Longtime Boston Herald columnist Margery Eagan has joined The Boston Globe as a columnist for its forthcoming Catholicism-news website, Crux."
