Brock and Salk return to mornings on Seattle Sports 710 AM

Why KIRO is better for Sports: Programming. It starts at the top. When the person in charge has a PROGRAMMING background and has oh you know actual experience in programming NOT a promotions background that would be the first thing. If you are a SVP in Programming and have never been a PD that's a kin to being a "Doctor" but not really going to medical school and your only experience is playing the board game operation.

Another reason why KIRO performs better: when you listen to KIRO, you know you’re getting high quality analysis from top notch hosts. Not to say that some of the hosts on KJR aren’t intelligent, but Brock’s background naturally makes him stand out as being more than just a personality. Not to mention, the last time I tuned into KJR the hosts were discussing a player’s genitals so I didn’t bother listening.

Oh that's nothing. Back in the day, KJR had a debate which lasted for an entire morning show: 'How much money would you require to allow someone to pee on your head?'
As I recall, the question was related to a guest attending an upscale party got peed-on by a guest standing on the posh home patio above. The guest sued the party goer and party host that took the wiz for something like a million dollars.
Now that's some seriously intellectual radio.

Yeah, that style of radio does nothing for me. KIRO has always presented itself as a legitimate source for information and analysts for all things related to sports. I feel like I learn more about the game after listening. I think KJR wants to be seen in the same light. They were smart to distance themselves from this style of talk.

Oh, yes, how crass! Given all that, how much would someone have to pay you? Because that answer makes me want to chip in.

That honestly sounds like a topic more suited to a show like the Men's Room than a show on a sports station. I personally like that style of radio on a music station, but I'm not sure how I'd react to that on a sports talk station.

Ultimately it's a question that nobody would normally think of. Kind of like something relatable to here: If a radio nerd/hobbyist actually knew what they were talking about, could they actually make money in the radio biz?

Well, I made money but very little of it, so I decided it was time for a new career path LOL

Isn’t Brock doing a lot of Fox color commentating? Means he will probably miss a lot of days, or at worst be doing the show in another city. I don’t know for sure about whether he lives in Denver. If he does, I’m pretty sure it is never talked about on KIRO.

KJ Wright joins the Brock and Salk show.

Brock is a future, (if not now) star of national broadcasting. I understand why he is still on local radio, but really he is destined to be a premier national broadcaster. IMO.

That was a pretty good one, Kelly. "Salk in the wound". Us radio folk tend to have clever word play. Back in the day it was somewhat required to be on the air. Why dumb DJ's were rare. Although I hired and fired a few :)
