BRW: Paula O'Connor (Brudnoy, Williams prod; WTKK PD) to be Rush Radio PD

Yes and I tried a couple times to post but kept getting "timeout try again" messages.

Don't know if they'd want Imus on 1200; they have Katz now, their only local show

Maybe they'd tape delay Beck to 6 pm (or oops, 7 pm as I think 6 pm is a Rush replay. Whom could they pick up, Brian Kilmeade from Fox Talk Radio? Dennis Miller from Westwood One? (though he starts at 10). They could move Katz to 6-10 am, then D. Miller, Rush etc with Beck moved to 7 pm etc

Or local but do they have the budget? (As for Howie, if they felt he could bring in the ad bucks and if RKO REALLY lowballed him...far fetched but possible. Howie's "term in prison" as he puts it ends in late 2012.)

Would XKS do something like run a Rush re-run in am drive then put Katz on 9-noon or 3-6 and run the displaced show on delay? am drive and pm drive important; would they dare, for example,
put Katz on vs Howie (and Severin)? it would be local and maybe they could get some listeners, but...

Perhaps they may--at 1200, though again as has been suggested Howie may reluctantly go back to RKO if they offer him half decent money and other stations can't match it. If he really hates the conditions would he rather work for Rush Radio perhaps for less money? I do know Howie has been hinting he'd like to be like Rush and move to Florida, do his show from there, but since he is still a Herald reporter on local issues can you picture him doing it from FLA?

He does still have the column and a new book comes out in April (with a novel after that). I don't
know what kind of salary offers he'd get from radio but it seems he must be doing half decently
overall financially. (And there's the free--for now--Cadillac...)

i think howie could do the show easily from florida which he seems to want and no reason that he could not do his column from there too. remember he's not a beat reporter who actually goes to the scene of stories. but there is no station that will pay him anywhere near what he is making at rko, so i would think maybe he takes what they offer and then says he'll do it from florida. just my thoughts fwiw.

Doesn't stop WSPD/Toledo host Brian Wilson from doing his show in Lynchburg, VA, due to an allergic reaction to pollen in the Toledo air. Yet he doesn't hesitate to tell listeners what a "great day" it may be in Toledo... despite him not being physically there...
