Byron Allen of Allen Media Named as a candidate to get the Denver Broncos

And with KUSA & KTVD now up for sale (Even though they're going to go to Cox barring some MAJOR miracle) & with them holding the Preseason, MNF & (When not shown on KDVR) TNF rights, it wouldn't surprise me if Allen Media bought & used them as a springboard to either buy SportsNet from AT&T or form a 3rd regional sports network to compete against BOTH SportsNet & Altitude

Thoughts?

Huh? KUSA and KTVD will stay with TEGNA following the Standard General buyout. Only the DFW, Houston, and Austin TEGNA stations will be spun to Cox under the current sale agreement.

That's why I said "barring some MAJOR miracle"

Did you not READ that part BEFORE hitting REPLY?? 😈

In your post you stated that KUSA and KTVD were going to Cox, which is not true at the moment. WFAA, KMPX, KHOU, KTBU, and KVUE are the only TEGNA stations heading to Cox ownership under the impending Standard General deal. KUSA and KTVD will remain with the privatized TEGNA, although, yes, there could be a future sale that changes that, which is perhaps what you were implying.

The wording of your original statement comes across with a different meaning than you might think.

The last part is EXACTLY what I was getting at. If Byron Allen buys the Broncos, I wouldn't be surprised if Allen Media makes a play for KUSA & KTVD too

Another place where it could make a play is Seattle as I don't think Cox/Standard Media can buy KING & KONG & STILL hang on to KIRO too (Either directly or indirectly) as that would likely be against FCC regulations

In both cases, I'm just saying don't rule it out as it would put them in two of THE LARGEST cities in America
