Cox in Enfield, CT (Hartford County - Hartford/New Haven DMA, but borders Springfield) carries WGGB (ABC) and WGBY (PBS) in HD from Springfield alongside the Hartford locals. Odd...considering the last time I checked, Comcast of Springfield, MA carried WVIT-TV (NBC) channel 30 of New Britain, CT and WCCT-TV (CW) channel 20 of Waterbury, CT. I was in a hotel room one night in Springfield, so I don't know if HD was available on them or not. As for bordering, I think you mean that Enfield, CT borders on their market, because one would pass through Longmeadow, MA before reaching the Springfield city line.
