Cable systems located in one market that carry another market’s channels in HD

Suddenlink Truckee, CA (Nevada County - Sacramento DMA) carries ABC and PBS Reno in HD alongside the Sacramento locals. SD adds CBS and PBS San Francisco (!): http://tvschedule.zap2it.com/tvlist...6161&setMyPreference=false&lineupId=CA01213:X

The odd thing about this is that Truckee is much closer to Reno than to Sacramento but only gets two Reno stations. In fact, the local high school plays in the Nevada high school athletic association.

Charter Northstar, CA (Placer County - Reno DMA), which has a Truckee mailing address, also qualifies, as NBC Sacramento is in HD alongside the Reno affiliates. The twist is that NBC Reno is SD only: http://tvschedule.zap2it.com/tvlist...6161&setMyPreference=false&lineupId=CA56177:X

Midco Bemidji MN (Beltrami County - Minneapolis DMA) carries mainly Twin Cities stations in HD, but has WDIO Duluth for ABC HD instead of KSAX (satellite of KSTP), which is SD only. SD also adds NBC Fargo and CBC Winnipeg.
http://tvschedule.zap2it.com/tvlist...MN22457:X&isDescriptionOn=true&aid=tvschedule

The other cable company serving Bemidji, Paul Bunyan, does carry KSTP HD and the rest of the Twin Cities stations, along with KSAX SD (!). NBC Fargo and CBC Winnipeg are also in HD.
http://tvschedule.zap2it.com/tvlist...MN60867:X&isDescriptionOn=true&aid=tvschedule

Paul Bunyan has two systems, one based in Bemidji [Minneapolis DMA] and the other based in Grand Rapids [Duluth-Superior DMA]. Outside of locals, they are the exact same, so they're on one PDF: http://www.paulbunyan.net/television/pdf/fusion-channel-guide.pdf

Bemidji system carries the following (in HD except where noted):
All Minneapolis commercial stations (ION SD only)
KSAX SD (a straight simulcast of KSTP, which is already in HD)
Lakeland PBS
NBC Fargo
CBC Winnipeg

Grand Rapids carries the following (in HD except where noted):
All Duluth commercial stations
Lakeland PBS
CBS and ION Minneapolis (ION SD only)
CBC Winnipeg

I posted that over a year ago

Paul Bunyan Telecom carries 3 out of market stations in HD

-in the East (Itasca and Koochiching Counties) they carry both CBS (KCCW satellite of WCCO Minneapolis) and KAWE (PBS). Those 2 counties are in the Duluth market but those 2 stations can EASILY be picked up OTA in Itasca County. Ironically they dont carry the "in market" PBS WRPT (satellite of WDSE)

-in the West (Beltrami & Hubbard Counties) they carry KVLY NBC from Fargo. Counties are in the Mpls market

Full Channel in Warren, RI (Bristol County - Providence DMA) carries PBS Boston in HD instead of in-market PBS (which is SD only): https://www.fullchannel.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/FC_lineup_MAY2016-1.pdf

WSBE airs most popular PBS series on, usually, an eight-day delay from primary public television stations such as Boston's WGBH-TV. WSBE also airs other PBS programs, and American Public Television programs, such as The Lawrence Welk Show, The Red Green Show, and "Britcoms" from the BBC, including Keeping Up Appearances, As Time Goes By, Vicar of Dibley, Are You Being Served?, Last of the Summer Wine and several others.

Does DirecTV or DISH carry WGBH in Providence?

Blue Ridge Cable Milford PA (Pike County - NYC DMA) carries mainly NYC stations in HD, but has WNEP and WVIA Scranton instead of WABC and WNET for ABC and PBS HD. Blue Ridge does carry WABC's Live Well subchannel in HD. SD also adds CBS, FOX and NBC Scranton, and MeTV, TBN, WMBC and Telemundo NYC.

neither provider gives them WGBH
Dish only can give them RI PBS (due to the rules they have to abide by)
Directv does give them Conneticut PBS also (WEDN)

The DISH rules (I think) only apply to Big Four affiliates, unless the market is missing an affiliate (i.e. Alpena and NBC)

Blue Ridge Cable Kresgeville/Kunkletown, PA (Monroe County - Scranton/Wilkes-Barre DMA) carries MNT New York in HD alongside the Scranton affiliate. WFMZ Allentown is also seen in HD. SD adds ABC, CBS, and NBC Philadelphia and WLVT from Allentown: http://www.brctv.com/printable/lineup-and-pricing/13179

Blue Ridge Cable Beach Lake, PA (Wayne County - Scranton/Wilkes-Barre DMA) carries MNT New York in HD instead of the Scranton affiliate (which is SD only). SD adds ABC, CBS, NBC, and PBS New York: http://www.brctv.com/printable/lineup-and-pricing/14614

Dish can only give you stations licensed to your market....the one exception is that Dish can only give you an out of DMA station if there is none there (like your Alpena example)
If there is no PBS in the market Dish gives you the national feed. They do not import a neighboring one

edit: great example of this is the Tri CIties, VA/TN area. Their PBS in the DMA is WSBN in Norton, VA which is a satellite of the Roanoke one (WBRA). Due to budget cuts they actually shut down WSBN but its back now just with PBS Encore. Now even though WETP in Sneedville is another station on cable there, because that is in the Knoxville DMA the Tri Cities cant get it.
Dish gives them the national feed of PBS in Tri Cities now.
Directv also gives them the national PBS in Tri-Cities
Cable DOES give them WETP from Sneedville in the Tri CIties

I think WGN is WGN America. There is no CW station on this system.

again this is where zap2it isnt the "be all to end all" discussions.

Zito channel chart says "WGN The CW"
Also Zito shows My Network (WVLT-DT2) on 56 and SEC Network on 63. Zap2it mysteriously does not have those channels listed

Harlan Community Television, Harlan KY (Harlan County/Knoxville DMA) carries the following
Knoxville Big 4, PBS, CW, My, Ion
Lexington NBC, FOX, CBS (WKYT)
Hazard PBS & CBS (WYMT)....Hazard is still Lexington market...but this makes sense as it gives them "local" news
Tri-Cities WKPT My (and Cozi sub). This must have been the "out of market" ABC they gave subs instead of Lexington until it changed to My

all nets are in HD

MId-Rivers systems in Eastern Montana are within 4 different DMA's (Glendive, Rapid City, Bismarck, Billings) yet most of the markets outside of the Billings market have a mix of networks from each market. A few examples

Baker (Fallon Co/Bismarck DMA) has CBS & NBC from Bismark (well Dickinson), ABC & FOX from Rapid City and KXGN CBS Glendive.HD Nets are CBS & NBC from ND and FOX & ABC from SD.
http://www.midrivers.com/catvdocs/Baker MegaVue 080112 LEGAL.pdf

Circle (McCone Co/Bismarck DMA) has ABC, NBC, FOX from ND but also KXGN CBS & NBC from Glendive in HD (ND CBS & NBC are in SD...FOX & ABC are in HD)
http://www.midrivers.com/catvdocs/Circle MegaVue 080112 LEGAL.pdf

Ekalaka (Carter Co/Rapid City DMA) has same setup as Baker (CBS & NBC from ND, ABC & FOX from SD, CBS Glendive)
http://www.midrivers.com/catvdocs/Ekalaka MegaVue 080112 LEGAL.pdf

Glendive being a short market has CBS & NBC from Glendive, FOX & ABC from Billings and NBC from Williston (which goes back to the analog days when Glendive had a translator for NBC Williston in Glendive)
http://www.midrivers.com/catvdocs/2016_GlendiveLineup3.pdf

a few cities in NE Montana use the Sidney lineup (digital) which has Big 4 from ND + KXGN CBS. This one gives you PBS from both MT & ND
http://www.midrivers.com/catvdocs/2016SidneyLineup3.pdf

One note....pretty much all Mid-Rivers markets in Eastern MT (outside of the couple spots in the Billings DMA that have Mid-Rivers cable) KXGN CBS is included regardless of the DMA. Also Montana PBS is the PBS in all markets (Sidney does give you both)
