Cable systems located in one market that carry another market’s channels in HD

A few posts back I posted some Mid Rivers (Montana) listings. After reviewing the thread I realize they had been posted late last year
Sorry for the dupe (and side note...the search engine here sucks...I used that before posting) ;)

Sleepy Eye (Brown County - Mankato DMA?) carries most of the MSP locals (even WCCO!) and KWCM (PBS) in HD alongside CBS Mankato. SD adds KTCA (KTCI IS in HD!) and FOX Mankato: http://www.nutelecom.net/wp-content/uploads/sleepy_eye_channel_lineup.pdf

yes Brown County is in the Mankato DMA. And even though there is KEYC CBS in that area, most (if not all) cable companies in the area carry WCCO also (even in Mankato proper). The owner of KEYC (United Communications) recently filed an appeal with the FCC to get WCCO, KMSP (FOX Mpls) off the SV list for Mankato (thus getting them pulled from cable)

the mothership of NU-Telecom New Ulm, MN (Brown Co/Mankato DMA) has 2 options

NU-Tel has all the Mpls stations (including WCCO & WUCW CW) in HD (Mankato technically has a cable only CW). PBS from Appleton/Worthington in SD
http://www.nutelecom.net/wp-content/uploads/new_ulm_channel_lineup.pdf

Comcast has the same thing for HD stations except they dont carry the FOX Mankato or KWCM. They have a real close lineup channel number wise as Minneapolis. They dont even carry KEYC in SD on 12 (its on 6 which is a Minneapolis public access station in the Twin Cities)

The interesting thing about New Ulm and Mankato is both cities are right on the MN River which distinguishes the counties (Brown and Blue Earth). Nicollet County (which is where North Mankato is and is between the two other counties) is technically the Mpls DMA even though KEYC is LICENSED to North Mankato. Directv subs get KEYC as SV there (they get the full slate of Mpls stations). Dish uses the same rules in N Mankato as if they were in Blue Earth County (only KEYC CBS/FOX, Mpls ABC & NBC as fill ions, National PBS)

so depending on what provider you have in N Mankato, your networks vary (sometimes greatly)
Charter has CBS & FOX Mankato, NBC, FOX, MY, ABC, PBS from Mpls in HD...SD adds CBS Mpls, ABC and PBS Austin/Albert Lea (KAAL & KSMQ...Rochester, MN market), CW Mankato (cable only). They do not get KSTC 45 (Independent) from Mpls
Consolidated (formerly Hickory Tech) gives you CBS & FOX Mankato, Big 4 + My + PBS from Mpls in HD, SD adds CW
Directv gives you all Mpls DMA stations (including KAWB Brainerd/Bemidji and KWCM Appleton) in HD + KEYC in HD as SV (they dont get Fox Mankato)
Dish due to their hands being tied about carrying out of market stations, even though you are in the Mpls market in N Mankato, only gives you (in SD to boot) CBS & FOX Mankato, ABC & NBC Mpls, PBS National

edit: Dish has changed their lineup in N Mankato. Ran a zip there and you get the Minneapolis stations (as you should) but you DONT get KEYC (because you already have a CBS in WCCO...even though KEYC might be across the street from your house you cant get it on satellite in N Mankato) due to the law that dish has to abide by (the only way they can import a network is if there is not one assigned to that DMA)

I have to correct myself before someone  says 'well technically.....' Like he seems to do everywhere he posts...

KEYC is LICENSED to Mankato but their studio/station is in North Mankato.

this system is only in SD but its unique as the different nets you get depending on location

Tongue River Communications
Dayton, Ranchester and Story (Sheridan Co/Rapid City DMA)
FOX & ABC from Rapid City, CBS from Billings, MT, NBC (KCWY) from Casper along with WPIX & KTLA!! They do have KWGN but that being almost a local I can see that.

Sundance (Crook Co/Rapid City DMA)
CBS, ABC , FOX & PBS from Rapid City but NBC is from Casper, Wyoming PBS is carried along with Denvers CBS (KCNC) & My (KTVD). Also WPIX & KTLA

Upton (Weston Co/Rapid City DMA)
only ABC is from its "assigned" market. They also have ABC Casper (KTWO) and CBS, NBC and PBS from Denver. No WPIX/KTLA/KWGN and at least what I see on zap2it, NO FOX!

Gilette, WY (Campbell County/Denver DMA) is one of those island counties in Northern WY
County east is Rapid City, NW is Rapid City, South is Casper

Anywho...in HD
Denver Big 4 + CW (KGWN) + MY (KVMD)
Rapid City ABC (KOTA)
Casper ABC (KTWO), PBS and CBS (KGWC)

SD adds
Denver PBS, Rapid City Me (KHME...formerly KOTA) and Sheridan's KSGW (which is either still a full satellite of KOTA or they may have switched it over to a full satellite of KCWY Casper as Gray was going to do)

Forgot the link: http://tvschedule.zap2it.com/tvlist...WY68807:X&isDescriptionOn=true&aid=tvschedule

It's a Charter system. CW Denver should be KWGN, MNT Denver should be KTVD.

Southwest Broadband Lakefield MN serves mainly Jackson County (Minneapolis DMA) but crosses into Brewster and Round Lake in Nobles County (Sioux Falls DMA). All of the Twin Cities network affiliates are carried in HD, along with KSMN (PBS), ABC and CBS Sioux Falls and CBS Mankato. SD adds PBS Minneapolis, NBC and MNT Sioux Falls and FOX Mankato.

"I have to correct myself before someone says 'well technically.....' Like he seems to do everywhere he posts..."::rolleyes:
god forbid I invert a couple letters or accidentally type the wrong thing (since I was multi-tasking)

Garden Valley Telco..all of their locations are in the Fargo DMA and they carry all Fargo stations but also carry Lakeland PBS (KAWE Bemidji..Mpls DMA) too (in HD where they carry HD). On their IPTV system they also carry all 5 Lakeland PBS subs too (But Ironically NONE of the Prairie Public PBS subs are carried)
The IPTV guide

Also Clearbrook and Gonvick (both in Clearwater Co) carry KCCW Walker (Mpls DMA..satellite of WCCO Minneapolis) but only in SD (but the cable there is only in SD)
