Cable systems located in one market that carry another market’s channels in HD

Even thought its SD it warrants a mention

Harrison, Nebraska (Sioux County/Rapid City DMA) carries NOTHING from the "home" market. They carry
CBS. CW and NBC from Denver
ABC and PBS from Scottsbluff
FOX from Cheyenne (Scottsbluff and Cheyenne are same market)

A few years ago (2012-2013) Sioux county moved from Denver DMA to Rapid City DMA. Harrison is the only incorporated town. Satellite gives you Rapid City locals

2 KGWN (Denver)
3 CNN
4 KNEP (ABC Scottsbluff)
5 USA
6 Freeform
7 KUSA (NBC Denver)
8 Inspiration Network (zap2it says MeTV via KTVD-DT2 My20 but it could possibly be the Me/My that is a sub on the Cheyenne FOX)
9 Hallmark
10 KCNC (CBS Denver)
11 Discovery
12 TBS Superstation
13 KTNE (PBS Nebraska)
14 Hallmark Movie Channel
15 Root Sports (Denver)
16 Big Ten Network
17 *Showtime
18 *Movie Channel
19 Rural Free Delivery TV (zap2it shows channel gone)
20 KLWY (Fox Cheyenne)
21 Programe Guide
22 Weather
23 Great American Country
24 History
25 Arts & Entertainment
26 Create

(and yes this listing and another of their cities were already posted in the "worst" cable thread)

All three Buckeye systems also carry CBC Windsor in HD (the HD feed was added as a result of the NBC Toledo dispute and remained)

Vermont Telephone Company has cable offered in Rutland, Windsor, Bennington and Windham Counties
Rutland and Windsor are in the Burlington, VT DMA, Bennington is in the Albany DMA, Windham is in the Boston DMA

HOWEVER a few years ago Vermont got a law passed that Vermont cable and satellite subs regardless of DMA should get Vermont stations alongside their "assigned" DMA. But I see some descrepancies

HD stations carried
Boston ABC, NBC, FOX, ION, CW, PBS
Burlington CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX, CW, PBS and WNNE NBC Hartford, VT (satellite of Burlington NBC)

but it says in Windham County they dont get ABC or FOX Burlington and they are the only ones to get FOX Boston.
CBS Boston nor WSBK are carried at all (possibly a dispute..both are owned by CBS)

So I guess the post would be
Rutland and Windsor counties get Boston PBS, NBC, ABC, ION, CW alongside the Burlington locals
Windham County gets Burlington CBS, NBC (Burlington and satellite Hartford), CW, PBS alongside Boston locals. WBZ and WSBK are not carried
Bennington County gets no locals from its "assigned" market and get all the stations previously listed EXCEPT Fox Boston . The 2 towns that the system supports are border cities to other counties.

After difficult negotiations with Nexstar Broadcasting, Inc., which owns the Fox affiliate WFFF, and Mission Broadcasting, Inc., which owns the ABC affiliate WVNY, we were informed that we could not show WFFF and WVNY in Windham County. These networks originate from Burlington and are part of the Burlington Designated Market Area (DMA). Unfortunately Windham County falls into the Boston DMA. These DMA's have been set for decades by the FCC, and because of complicated rebroadcast laws and regulations, we were unable to reach an agreement to show these stations outside their assigned DMA.

To ensure that Windham County residents have ABC and Fox options available to them, we have recently managed to finally bring the ABC and Fox allifiates from Boston to our Windham County customers. Those customers can watch WFXT Fox Boston (which is available to our Windham County VTelevision customers only) and WCVB ABC Boston (available to all VTelevision customers).

We have been able to reach agreements with the other broadcast networks to show their channels in both the Burlington and Boston DMA's, so there is no danger at this time of losing other channels because of this issue.

As for CBS and Boston, it must be a retrans dispute. The "cable" at the Super 8 and Motel 6 in Brattleboro (Windham County) both had WBZ-TV channel 4 the last time I stayed at each one. I don't remember seeing WSBK-TV channel 38, however.

Thats interesting because BOTH Dish and Directv in Windham county carry Boston nets + The big 4 & PBS from Burlington. I know someone who "moved" his Directv address to Windham County so he could get Boston nets + his "home" market of Burlington

Dish subs in Burlington County get all the Boston nets + Burlington

Burlington, VT (Windham County, VT)
3-00 WCAX BURLINGTON, VT (CBS)
22-00 WVNY BURLINGTON, VT (ABC)
31-00 WNNE HARTFORD, VT
6242 WPTZ PLATTSBURG, NY (NBC) (No mapdown)
6243 WFFF BURLINGTON, VT (FOX) (No mapdown)

The reason of no mapdown is because 5 & 44 are already taken on Boston nets ;) Bennington gets the Albany nets + the 5 above (and all are mapped down)

Directv subs get Boston + Burlington CBS, ABC, PBS, FOX and NBC (WNNE)

Also the reason Burlington gets 2 NBC's even though WNNE is a satellite of WPTZ is WWPTZ is licensed to Plattsburgh, NY whereas WNNE is licensed to Vermont. Both get must carry status due to being licensed to different states

Burlington, VT is in Chittenden County. There's no Burlington County until you reach New Jersey.

I'm guessing the "cable" at the Super 8 I stayed at in Brattleboro (Windham County) was either a Dish or DirecTV thing. Their crappy lineup carried NESN, the New England Sports Network station for the Red Sox and Bruins. I was told one of those companies rarely carries regional sports networks, if at all. I posted that lineup a few weeks ago here (stayed there the night of May 28th/29th).

Brattleboro is a Comcast town, which was formerly served by Adelphia. From what I understand, they carry these stations:

WCAX-TV (CBS) channel 3 Burlington, VT
WMUR-TV (ABC) channel 9 Manchester, NH
WCDC-TV (ABC) channel 19 Adams, MA
WVTA-TV (PBS) channel 41 Windsor, VT
WEKW-TV (PBS) channel 52 Keene, NH
WGBY-TV (PBS) channel 57 Springfield, MA

Along with the the "Big 4" and channels 38 (MY) and 56 (CW) from Boston/Cambridge. I think they carry Telemundo channel 60 from Merrimack, NH, but I'm not 100% sure.

Boston's Big 4 and CW, plus WMUR, WBIN, Telemundo and NHPTV are carried in HD. WSBK and ION are SD only. As for out-of-market stations, only WCAX and WGBY are in HD.
