CALLER AIRED CALLING PRESIDENT A F*#@ING N-WORD ON RUSH RADIO?

Clear Channel keeps firing the wrong people! The Ops Manager should have been more involved and checked his list more accurately and the engineer should have had some kind of delay on a "talk station". Blame all the worker bee's as you want but the real probelm is way up the food chain. The alcohol queen in the front office must have been sleeping at the wheel that day or coming up with a new drink to serve the staff. Why did Bill not complain there was no "delay" for he leaves himself in a real bad situation if something does slip by and we all know something did. Good management on CC's part.

I actually have it on pretty good authority that they did have a delay but when the dump button was pushed (by whomever runs the board on that show), it didn't work. Can't blame a person for faulty equipment that they expect will work when they need it to.

On the real, man, something just doesn't ring true about this scenario. Levin is the best engineer most of us have ever worked with/around. It just seems impossible that he installed something and six weeks after a format flip, it didn't work. I just cannot wrap my mind around that.

Satterfield's fb page:

I've worked with Levin and know him to be a very competent engineer in good standing with management. I agree that something stinks about this whole situation. However, if the button didn't work, that would have to ultimately be the engineers responsibility, wouldn't it? I mean someone has to take responsibility for it. Seems like that is something they would check and recheck because of the potential for disaster, especially on a station like Rush Radio.

Ted is a good engineer. But I can certainly see where something like this would fall thru the cracks. Satterfield had 19 different meetings a day and was pulled in many different directions. CC saw a quick was to dump 2 pretty healthy salaries and pulled the trigger. Those guys had both been there FOREVER..and those positions are pretty well paid to start with. Add 15 years of raises and stuff...and it's a pretty big number. We'll see what happens on the engineering side now. They may regret that firing more than the Ops side. Is WTQR the only station in the cluster that has a full time PD in house? Programming Greensboro from Raleigh or Charlotte, or vice versa doesn't work.

..wait, CC pays good salaries AND gives raises!?! What planet is that? That's where I want to live!

The "haves" in CCLand live in a different world than the "have-nots".....

I've been thinking about this whole thing and I am AMAZED that this has not shown up in the newspaper or TV. Whatever happened to investigative reporting???? This is a pretty big story and you'd think radio's competitors would be all over it. Whas up?

Been there, done that - a couple of times - that is push a delay button an it not work.

So has Ted. And I remember the day that Johnny Cochran said "motherf----r" on WSJS. It was a live coverage of a hearing in Winston-Salem relative the OJ trial! Cochran used the MF initials a couple of times, but the judge made him say it! I don't remember if the button didn't work or we were all so stunned no one pushed it that day!

Anybody got any new info about the payment of fines for this infraction?

I don't suppose this is related, but a couple of weekends ago I bumped into the wire going from the antenna to converter box no. 2, which stays on Fox 8 for "Roy's Folks" so that when the time comes all I have to do is turn the TV on (or, if I had a VCR that would do this, set it to tape; the other one connected to digital TV is committed to "The Simpsons") . I apparently pulled the wire loose from the box because it was a nightmare getting the good signal back. And just when I thought I had done it, I turned on the TV March 31 and saw a frozen image of someone standing in front of the logo for Rush Radio (and a frozen picture means no sound). I fixed the wire as best I could and went back in the other room but couldn't really hear anything. I was lucky to hear Roy when he came on, but whatever the story about Rush Radio was, I didn't hear it.

I tried to fix that wire again and THIS time I hope I got it, but I'll know in a couple of hours. No, Fox 8 is not on my cable system.

So are you saying the delay system on Rush radio is hooked into the cable system and no reception means no delay? So this is Time Warners fault? Huh, is that what you're sayin'.
