A caller identifying himself as "Al in Dadeville" called Paul Finebaum's radio show based at WJOX to take responsibility for the poisoning of live oak trees at Toomer's Corner at Auburn University. "Al" was believed to have used a herbicide on the trees on Thanksgiving weekend, following Auburn's comeback victory over Alabama on November 26.
When informed by Finebaum that his actions were against the law, "Al" replied, "Well you think I care? ... I really don't."
Clearly bleeding crimson, the caller then signed off with, "Roll damn Tide."
