Can someone fill me in on the Toucher, 99X situation?

Used to live in Atlanta, now back home in Dallas. Read the posts. Did Toucher leave or what???? What is happening at 99X, and in particular, the morning show??

By the way, if they wnat to leave Atlanta, please come to Dallas. Our FM choices are David Lee Roth or Lex and Terry...which is not much of a choice. Actually, the best morning show is on KTCK The Ticket (1310 AM, 104.1 FM)and is a mix of sports and guy talk.

I think you will find most of what you want to know at
WWW.99xwatch.org

Kwyjibo, aren't you the moderator on the UT rivals board?

so they are openly auditioning for a job in Phoenix, yet Fred is still employed at 99x? Man, i need that type of arrangement in my line of work. "hey, not going to be in next. Trying out a new job and then will let you know whats going on"

Here's the Toucher situation in a nutshell

Nobody gives a good (BLEEP). Look at yourselves. You're debating, for days now, the impact on the market of the demise of a morning show with a 2 share and hasn't known relevancy since 2001. And all because Fred Toucher posed as an innocent yet concerned industry member.

Here's what's going to happen. Nothing. They're all getting blown out and will find new things to do. The station will reset the pins and take another roll with some new arrangements of people and music, And the X will be just that. Memorable as David Paul. Some will learn from their mistakes, most will not. But as long as there are people like the ones on this message board doing the hiring, even the losers will find work.

You are an arrogant jerk! You sound like that moron "Whip" on the Buzz. Toucher rules, the rating system sux and if 99x management had a clue, they would keep a DJ that has a charisma and wit , like Toucher. Anybody can spin tunes, but comedy is a gift!

What's sad is Toucher was funny when he was on nights. Not so much in the morning imho.

No, it sounds more like he starting taking himself too seriously with his rants. He was funnier with his night gig when he was sarcastic and kind of goofy. He started ranting about politics and crap like that in the AM and he became tedious to me. Also like I said in another thread he seemed to adopt the Adam Corolla rant gimmick which is where you're going to get a rant at some point just because there needs to be a rant. That's how Corolla sounded to me on Loveline after a while.
