Canadian channels in the Canadian lineup -- Will it be this way for us Americans?

Kudos, mostly, on the new Canadian streams - Re: They're LIVE!

I'm reasonably happy with what Sirius has done with its Canadian content. In fact, I woke up around 5 AM Thursday and felt a bit like a kid on Christmas morning as my radio updated channels and I checked out the new streams.

I could nitpick a little in that I'd think Sirius's American service would probably find more listeners (myself, for one) for Hardcore Sports or even Energie2 (after all, as they say, "music is the universal language") than the French-language news service.

Other than that, I'd say, "well done."

And, maybe it's just me, but I feel Sirius has handled adding Canadian streams for its American listeners better than rival XM has. After all, Sirius didn't axe streams in order to do it (while XM did) and such stations as CBC Radio One and CBC Radio Three could be considered "proven commodities," whereas it sounds like at least XM's Canada 360 is a start-up that is still "finding its way" (to be charitable, based on what I've read).

Also, FWIW, I've added CBC Radio One and Iceberg to my presets. CBC Radio One was a shoo-in, as I see it, and, while there's lots of competition for my music presets, I have a good first impression of Iceberg. Also, BTW, I listened to CBC Radio Three for a little while this morning. I liked what I heard.

Canadian Streams and XM

You're being kind, but because you've never heard it. "Canada 360" may be the worst satellite radio news/information channel in the short history of the medium. Take the poor audio quality of XM's traffic/weather streams, which sound like they're being delivered by a warbling computer, and add in dry, dull news readers, with no production values, no outside reporting, basically reading wire copy 24/7. That's "Canada 360".

I can only hope XM does not consider this its final Canadian news/info product.

It sounds like they're really putting a lot of effort into Radio Three, especially. It's the 24/7 stream of a format that's run on weekends on Radio Two, and on the Internet. CBC originally wanted to run this as a third over-air service - hence, the name - but was unable to get the licenses to do it.
