Captain Humble on WWL CH. 4 news tonight (3/12)

FYI... Bill Capo will have a story on The Good Captain and his restaurant closing on the Ch. 4 10pm news tonight, 3/11.

I'm looking forward to seeing it too. I'm not sure how the Action Reporter can help if I understand the Cap/landlord/back rent/eviction situation correctly, but let's see if there are any rabbits in the hat. Good luck, Cap.

NO ONE CARES!? Cap, how can you say no one cares?! I also lost everything I own in Katrina...after all these reunions...no one cares?! Have all your friends been invisible?

::) Thank you my dear friends. The first promo came on early and I was awake to watch it. I've worked since I was 9 (i'm 35 now) never stole, only took what I was allowed to have and my insurance company , USAA, still owes me $24,900 plus penalties and interest and they knocked me to down. Thanks for being so kind to me, a person who came back from Katrina so we all could be together. I was gone for 152 days and in a Fema Trailer for two and one half years while USAA slowly paid. We, who returned, aren't the bad guys --- we tried. I fell down and hope to get up on the bike before my 36th birthday this month. I love you dear radio stars. Thank you, thank you for your concern. If I can't be up by April 11th, it'll be one of the saddest days of my life! Sincerely, Cap!

I apologize if I expressed any anger...I don't want to stoop to the level of keschjr...

These are the most trying emotional and economic times we have ever seen in our lifetime...Cap (an all), I only wish the best for you and yours. If we all hang in there TOGETHER, we will make it thru these times.

Everyone have a safe and happy St. Patty's weekend!

Howard Castay sent me the most wonderful passages that I think we all could read and try to get a lil' out of:

2 Corinthians 5 in The Message translation

This is all from 2 Corinthians 5
1-5 For instance, we know that when these bodies of ours are taken down like tents and folded away, they will be replaced by resurrection bodies in heaven—God-made, not handmade—and we'll never have to relocate our "tents" again.
,,,,,,,
6-8 That's why we live with such good cheer. You won't see us drooping our heads or dragging our feet! Cramped conditions here don't get us down. They only remind us of the spacious living conditions ahead. It's what we trust in but don't yet see that keeps us going. Do you suppose a few ruts in the road or rocks in the path are going to stop us? When the time comes, we'll be plenty ready to exchange exile for homecoming.

9-10 Cheerfully pleasing God is the main thing, and that's what we aim to do, regardless of our conditions. Sooner or later we'll all have to face God, regardless of our conditions. We will appear before Christ and take what's coming to us as a result of our actions, either good or bad.

-------------------

A New Life
14-15 Our firm decision is to work from this focused center: One man died for everyone. That puts everyone in the same boat. He included everyone in his death so that everyone could also be included in his life, a resurrection life, a far better life than people ever lived on their own.
16-20 Because of this decision we don't evaluate people by what they have or how they look. ...... God has given us the task of telling everyone what he is doing. We're Christ's representatives. God uses us to persuade men and women to drop their differences and enter into God's work of making things right between them.

It was sad to learn that on top of all his other problems, Cap had a heart attack last weekend. Or at least that's what he said on TV.

The Cap piece is being shown on the 24-hour news replay CBS affiliate in Baton Rouge this weekend...I think the story left me with more questions than answers.

Captian Humble, you will never be forgottten. You have hundreds and hundreds of friends and collegues. You are an icon, fallen on bad times brought on by a horrible tragedy, as so many have in the area. We have sympathy and empathy for you. You are the gentlest most caring person I ever met in radio, even when I was an insenstive brat in the 70's. You overlooked my inexperience and gave me a chance that I will never forget, nor will my family who have always remembered your kindness. My mother (and my dad before he died in Katrina), my siblings and my children know who you are and how much I owed to you. I can't even put into words how much I wish I could do something to ease your pain. I've always thought you were one of those people that could "bounce" back, even thru tough times, and in my heart, I feel you will recover from this horrible setback. All of your friends are cheering for you, holding you in their hearts...and I am one of them.
