Carey and Ferguson to swap hosting roles on April 1st

For one day only (as part of April Fool's Day), Price is Right host Drew Carey and Late Late Show host Craig Ferguson will trade hosting roles; TPIR models and announcer George Gray will join Carey for the late night program, while characters Geoff Peterson and Secretariat will join Ferguson downstairs at Television City in the Bob Barker Studio. This was, of course, similar to 2003 when Katie Couric and Jay Leno traded hosting roles on their respective NBC programs.

I don't watch either show regularly, but I'm curious to see how this will work.

Great idea. Drew has already hosted his own talk show, so I imagine the transition will be easier for him than Craig. I doubt the two shows share much audience, so the regular viewers (especially for TPIR) will be in for something very different.

How about George Gray as announcer on Late Late, and Geoff Peterson's voiceover on TPiR! The whole audience would love it!

OT - but Craig Ferguson is still as funny as ever. Too bad he isn't on at 11:35 Eastern/Pacific, because I would watch him. Last night, Miley Cyrus' tour bus caught on fire. The directions according to Craig? "Stop, drop and TWERK." :D

Watched TPIR with Craig. Shadoe Stevens was announcer (also announcer on Late Late Show) and was pretty good, and Craig was very enthusiastic and always excited when someone won! I think he needs to be on as a guest host every couple of months - he's good! Geoff was on as was that funny horse that Craig always has on his show. 5 out of 6 won, and 2 cars were given away!

I thought both hosts did very well in their swapped roles. Drew ad libbed his monologue just like Craig does every night and it was a little flat but otherwise he was a great host. Drew Carey hosted The Late Late Show several times when there was a round robin of guest hosts after Craig Kilborn left to pursue a career in obscurity. I learned Carl Reiner is 92 and while he is still sharp I was saddened because he won't be with us for much longer and we'll be stuck with Meathead. My only criticism is George Grey and the TPIR models didn't add much to the broadcast and were largely ignored.

Craig was a natural host and goes to show how versatile he is. He'll take any role, run with it, own it and put his own stamp on it. It was nice to see Shadoe Stevens in front of the camera for a change. He really hasn't been in front of the camera since he starred on the sitcom Dave's World in the 90's. He looks good. Geoff and Secretariat popping up during the prize reveals was goofy and fun. Last I heard Craig is shopping a game show called "Celebrity Name Game" to be picked up next season with him as the host. Hosting TPIR is a good screen test for potential buyers to see that Craig has charisma and charm and would be a great game show emcee.

Celebrity Name Game WILL air next season. I don't know who in Seattle or Yakima-Tri Cities will pick it up, but I think WKYC will pick it up in Cleveland. With Craig hosting I think he will do GREAT. Maybe Geoff and Secretariat will appear on that show too :)
Didn't catch Drew Carey on Late Late Show - it airs at 12:37AM and I am in bed, probably in a dream by then. Mind you I only catch Craig Ferguson a couple times a year if that. I wish Letterman would move to 12:37. In my opinion, Craig is FUNNIER!
