Cast of "Rent" - Seasons Of Love

Who would have ever thought we'd make a post, in the dance forum, about a track from a Broadway musical! Then again "Rent" is not your typical Broadway musical either.

Yet the dance remix of "Seasons Of Love"...(aka. 525,600 minutes...) is another hot track! I especially like what Eddie Baez did to this.

Pick this one up when you can!

As A fan of Broadway and musicals, as well as a dance fan, I've been loving this one for a long time now. Both "BPM" on XM and "the Beat" on Sirius have been playing the dance mix of "Season's of Love" (Gomi's Lair Mix), for several months now.

FIVE HUNDRED TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED MIIIIIIIIIIIIIINUTES

Heard it on XM81/BPM over the last few months. Fun track.
______________

You guys actually like this song, with as many good Dance tracks are out now.....(Okay).........To each his own I guess....

This is a great song in its original form and the mixes are great too.

The Gomi, Eddie Baez, L.E.X. and Manny Lehman mixes are quite nice as wel..

And there is also a Tracy Young mix of "Take Me Or Leave", also from Rent.
______________

Remember the Ethel Merman Disco album? That's what killed disco the first time around; does anyone truly believe the Rent song would last two seconds on Z100 or WBLI,or that 'out of touch' records like the 'rent' song are what has marginalized 'dance' to it's current fringes?

Yeah I'm not crazy about it either.

Its been out since Thanksgiving. Was fun for the first month but many stations have moved past this one. Didn't have the legs even on Dance stations.

I simply like the song. I'm a big Broadway fan as well as a dance fan, and Rent has always been one of my favorite musicals. I have the Broadway cast album, and the movie soundtrack, and I like the original song, so of course, I love the dance mix.
Yeah, sure it probably isn't going to be a huge mainstream hit as you point out, but personally, I could care less about what Z100 or WBLI think of it. I don't listen to mainstream CHR much anymore. With satellite radio and internet radio, I now have the option to listen to pure dance anytime I want, so who cares about terrestrial CHR radio anymore? I certainly don't. I also really don't care whether the mainstream accepts dance or not, if it means modifying it to "fit" their tastes.
