Hey yall.
Somebody clear something up for me...
What
exactly makes someone a "puker/pukemouth dj?"
I have seen that phrase on this forum a few times, and it always seemed to me like it was referring to motormouth-landspeed word spillers. I saw someone a while back call Jackson Armstrong and some staff from some station, maybe it was CKLW, "pukers" at one point.
But I never heard it referred to as "singsongy" before, or at least that never seemed to be implied.
Is there some kind of cadence, some kind of lilting of the phrases, or something to look out for? Some aircheck examples to check out?
I'm just wondering what's the description to be a "puker", since before this thread, I thought I got into and out of radio long after the age of the pukers. And in the distant future, when there's some reunion of the couple of stations I worked at for a short time, I don't want to misuse the phrase, just in case there are any puker dj's at the reunion who might get mad.
