CBS 4 -WBZ- TV Stays With Judge Judy As Bombs Threaten Boston

In what is one on the most stupid choices WBZ -TV - 4 has made in its long history Channel 4 stayed with JUDGE JUDY as the City of Boston was threatened by a bomb threat at 7 different locations.

Channel 5 and 7 as well as NECN and CNN were on the story but Channel 4 stayed with its white trash afternoon programming.

Is someone at Channel 4 playing a violin while.....


No wonder Channel 4's ratings are tanking.

What excuse will the suits at 4 come up with now.

Time to fire the whole lot !

and the number one reason WBZ did not cut away to bomb coverage
1) HEY, YOU COVER ONE CITY PARALIZING HOAX IN ORDER TO ADVERTISE A CARTOON PROGRAM YOU WOULD HAVE TO COVER THEM ALL!
 
I couldn't have said it better myself. The people who are at home watching Judge Judy really don't care about this, and why should they? There was never a real threat, and the fact that WBZ 4 didn't cut in just suggests that they figured out earlier than everyone else that this was a hoax (in fact, WBZ radio was reporting this in the morning hours already).

You know what boggles my mind? It's that there's just no pleasing some people! Imagine that if all 3 stations (4,5, and 7) had cut in, a certain person would be complaining that they were pre-empting popular programming to puff up a worthless story for ratings. The truth (in my sole opinion) is that WBZ TV/AM made a calculated judgement call that not every TV or Radio fan may agree with, but that doesn't mean that someone should be fired for it.

Does anyone remember what happened when CBS cut off the end of CSI New York to report that Arafat died? Same deal here...
 
Totally agree with Garrett on this one. It was not a legit hoax and WBZ made a reasonable judgment call. If you wanted news coverage of this "non-event" there were plenty of other options including WBZ radio, so it's not like you had to watch "Judge Judy" (which is more compelling than this stupid "news" story anyway).

No, WBZ is catering to the BRAIN DEAD 20 somethings.

God, why don't those idiots do something constructive with their lives. In my 20's I was out there protesting against LBJ, the EVIL Robert MacNamara and the other devils who brought us the Vietnam War and 58,000 PLUS DEAD AMERICANS. And where are these Bozos, playing with their dreadlocks and cartoons.

Now, that is real progress. Yup, guess that is the Channel 4 mentality as well. That's why this poster in now watching Channel 5 WCVB.

you'd do well in the pre-gorbachev soviet union where everyone was told how to wear their, dress, behave and what channel to watch(they had 2 channels back then - ch.1 was all-propaganda news and ch2. told people to watch ch.1).
 
Would advise you to read...or in the alternative have someone read it to you, Neil Postman's definitive book on the media titled Amusing Ourselves to Death.

Postman's book defines exactly Channel 4's mentality - or lack thereof - in running Judge Judy while news is breaking around us.

So, go live in Never- Neverland with the two goofball Peter Pans who perpetrated this stunt. Just don't go blaming the government when a terrorist attack occurs for not being more diligent

I suppose you prefer Faux News with their keep-everyone-scared mentality. Too bad for you that WBZ-TV decided not to buy into that fallacy. Notice that not one single story on WBZ-TV is ever labeled "WBZ-TV NEWS ALERT," "BREAKING NEWS" or my all time not-favorite, "TEAM COVERAGE."

You gotta stop drinking the Kool-Aid, man. We don't need no steenkin' terrorists. We've done a splendid job of undermining our own country by letting our leaders and the media scare us and keep us scared...and I for one applaud the folks on Soldiers Field Road for not letting it get to them.
