CBS College Football to WCTX/MY TV 9 today

For some reason WFSB is buying airtime from LIN-TV and showing today's CBS College Football Game on WCTX/MY TV 9 - 2:30PM-6:00PM. And what exciting programming is WFSB showing instead of programming from its own network?

1:30PM-2:30PM Oprah (Rerun. My guess is the one that was pre-empted yesterday due to the NFL on CBS)
2:30PM-4:00PM Infomercials
4:00PM-5:00PM Oprah
5:00PM-6:30PM Eyewitness News at 5, 5:30, and 6.

No buying was involved. WFSB hasn't run the CBS football game on the day after Thanksgiving for a few years now. As with all network programming, if the primary affiliate doesn't pick it up, it can be aired by another station in the market that is willing to carry it. In this case that would be WCTX.

Similar to when WFSB used to not carry U.S. Open Tennis on Labor Day, when they were the Jerry Lewis Telethon affiliate at the time.

WABI the CBS station in Bangor does this too, and for the saturday afternoon SEC package. Before they launched the CW on a subchannel, WABI's overflow was a small low power Pax station. When 'ABI carries University of Maine sports in primetime they usually run the CBS programming after the late night shows
