CBS News Names Major Garrett Chief White House Correspondent

Lkeller said:
I don't know about the 90s, but Garrett was named Fox News White House correspondent in 2009, and stayed until 2010. Recently, he has worked for the National Review, and has been a guest contributor at MSNBC.

He works for the National Journal, not National Review. He's staying on at NJ as a columnist.

Interesting. Combined with Sharyl Attkisson it continues a trend of CBS having
reporters who are not necessarily too friendly towards Obama.

That's what I meant. ;D Thanks for the correction. Big difference.

I'm not sure that's true of Garrett. The assumption is that anybody employed by Fox News is a conservative, and that's probably 80% true, but there are exceptions, like Shepard Smith, who is reportedly a liberal.

Garrett claims to be "militantly non-partisan," but I found this link to "Tell the Truth" - no doubt a conservative website, that calls Garrett out for defending Obama's foreign policy, and accused him of being an "Obama flack."

I have also not heard that Atkisson is particularly conservative. The only evidence I can find is that she was given some kind of excellence in journalism award by a conservative group. She initially accepted, then pulled out at the last minute.

Most conservatives consider anyone that doesn't call for Obama's immediate impeachment and removal is an anti-American pinko commie liberal socialist muslim thumb-sucking bedwetter. ;D

What happened to the days when "White House Correspondent" was a title all reporters in the DC bureau at all the networks worked their whole careers to reach?

CBS has now had at least four White House correspondents during the Obama presidency, and at least two during G.W. Bush's 8 years. (Names: John Roberts (B), Jim Axelrod (B/O), Chip Reid (O), Norah O'Donnell (O), Major Garrett (O))

Isn't Murdoch a Libertarian and Ex-ABC 2020 host Stossel of FOx News Libertarian.

Look at Bernard GoldBerg of Fox News he accused CBS News of Being too liberal at one time.
I know there are some right wing people that do have ties with CBS News at some point. Former KCBS-AM and KPIX weather person Brian Sussman who now has a Right Wing talk show on KSFO-AM in the San Francisco area. I know that Frank Luntz who recently went to CBS News as an elections expert had at one time worked for Fox News as a pundit.

OK there was one person that at one time worked for KCBS-AM reporter and KPIX anchor Barbara Rogers worked for KKGN 960 AM San Francisco as a liberal to moderate host.

In the old days one could criticize the prez without being labeled the reverse of his party.

Obama has done some things I have agreed with and others I didn't but none of those changed my personal outlook on politics or which party I belonged to.

Why should it be different for reporters?
