CBS Radio/Pittsburgh Gets A New Boss Just In Time For Christmas!

Mark Anderson will become the new operations manager of Pittsburgh's CBS radio stations starting December 20:

In addition to overseeing the cluster, Mark will also be given the keys to Star 100.7 and Y108.

You may recall Mark's last stint in the Steel City as PD and OM of Clear Channel's Kiss 96.1 for a few years before departing in November 2005.

What they need to get is some new board ops.

When the Pitt football game was on 93.7 they had to bump the Pitt basketball
game to KD AM. Tuned in for a brief time, and I have honestly heard police scanners
which sounded better.

Was that the board ops or was it one of the bugs that need worked out in the new studio? I know since the AM moved from Gateway Center to Greentree there have been some complaints about technical glitches and the like, such as the sound of the traffic reports, not sure if it was the person on the board or just another of the bugs that needs worked out at the new site. Or it could have just been Dick Groat, he always sounds bad.

I hear what you are saying about Dick Groat. Sadly he was not sounding good at all, and it had nothing
to do with the signal.

Sound for that game was low, muddy, distorted. Very much like a police scanner.
If their people are on top of things and that's still the best they can make it sound, they've
got real serious issues.

At least the two dozen people out there with HD radios could hear the muddy, scratchy
distorted play by play in crystal clear HD.

I am reading conflicting reports that he will oversee all 4, and others that say just the music stations. What will be his role with The Fan?

Keith Clark had no role with The Fan. That was totally a Michael Young/Terry Foxx production.

I think the question is referring to Mark Anderson, not Keith Clark.

According to the original P-G article, Anderson will be Operations Manager of all four CBS stations, and additionally will be Programming Manager for the two music stations (WDSY 107.9 and WZPT 100.7).

I know it is. I'm saying that Anderson's predecessor had no role in The Fan, therefore I wouldn't expect him to be involved either.
