CBS rebrands The Early Show to CBS This Morning on January 9th, 2012

Wright County Guy said:
Is the Saturday version also becoming "This Morning"?

Actually. it will be because The "CBS This Morning" moniker will be applied to Saturdays only, While its Sunday Morning newscast will be retained because They do have a different crew and their own reporters covering the stories that touches our own lives.

Charlie Rose looked exhausted at the end of his shift yesterday.
Like literally ready to fall into a coma exhausted.

Since I'm West Coast, I doubt I was getting a "live" feed and if I was that might have explained the lethargy even more.
There's no way that this lasts by this time next year.

I watched the first 40 minutes of CBS Thsi Morning this morning (pun intended). I actually liked the lower key approach to the morning news, thinking that I could actually watch this while I got ready for work. Thankfully, there is no overly dramatic, fast talking Ann Curry and no hyper-graphical, pulsing news theme, local news-esque GMA.

CBS This Morning is calm, rational. Bob Schieffer was talking with Charlie Rose about the NH primaries. Erica Hill was tolerable. The show was good!

In terms of history of morning shows since the 70's, CBS was always the least consistent -- constantly changing times, names, and faces. ABC scored a coup with GMA -- dovetailing perfectly with the trend toward bright sets and happy-talk news. NBC has the venerable Today show, which has been on forever.
