CBS sells one more - but no word on Greensboro

I would be surprised if it got $15 million. :( Still, this sell will determine the actual value of the properties. The Triad just isn't an attractive market to enter.

I didn't base my statement on Cox on what others have said, but from what markets I'm familiar with. I don't think it would be out-of-the-question for them to enter the market with these outlets. When Glenn Scott is gone, Cox can stablize it. I don't think anyone can build; so it is a matter of stablization. You need a good model that can be implemented in other markets and I think Cox has this for AM talk. I'm not saying Cox will be the buyer though. I'm still not sure at this point who will buy it?

If the value, and price continues to drop, my money is on Centennial. They have been interested in it for quite some time and had approached CBS a few times over the last four years.

While Glenn Scott is certainly important, the biggest problem is the infomercial attitude of management. Sales really controls programming in local hours, and while they generate considerable revenue from these programs, they don't always provide the most compelling programming!

It is tough to do a current events program and come to a screeching halt for a chat with the dentist!

If CBS is stuck with it and can't get rid of it, how long will it be before they start slashing payroll?

Say goodbye to at least half of the news staff. Doug Stephan mornings can replace Glenn and Hannity can go in PM drive as BA catches the bus. Goodbye "computer talk" and hello Kim Kommando. Goodbye traffic. Goodbye swap shop. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to dump Accuweather for some cheap or free deal with a local TV station.

I hate syndicated [EDIT] too, but when "live and local" sucks, the door is opened to syndicated [EDIT]!

[EDIT-profanity]

One thing to remember is that the station is profitable! It contributes positive cash flow to CBS, so I doubt they would trash the things that make money. Bottom line, if they are stuck with it, very little changes.
