CBS Sports Radio coming to 107.1?

I ran my Malwarebytes and a virus scan and I haven't had anything show up. I hope the owners of this site are aware of the problem.

It's an issue with Google and Google Adsense... not a problem with the site according to the thread in the Ask RadioDiscussions forum.

Yesterday, Ohio Media Watch Tweeted: "New CBS Rome affiliate lists shows WNKK/107.1 Circleville, C-bus rimshot, as affiliate. Has been a country station. "

And later Tweeted: "Hmm. CBS' Jim Rome stations list removed WNKK/107.1 as C-bus affiliate. Maybe putting it on list was too early due to impending format chg!"

I think chances are, it's happening and someone let the cat out of the bag a little early.

I'm sure they're flipping. That .6 they did this month was pathetic. Columbus is oversaturated with Country stations as it is. I'm guessing they could do possibly a 1.5 with CBS Sports Network, but that's just a guess. They sure as heck can't do any worse than they've done with Wink.

Not sure it will. 1230 does poorly with Fox Sports. Why would WNNK do substantially better?

I'm sure they're flipping.  That .6 they did this month was pathetic.  Columbus is oversaturated with Country stations as it is.  I'm guessing they could do possibly a 1.5 with CBS Sports Network, but that's just a guess.  They sure as heck can't do any worse than they've done with Wink.

Not sure it will. 1230 does poorly with Fox Sports.  Why would WNNK do substantially better?

Why indeed?  Also, WNNK is one of the worst of the crop of poor rimshots yet their measly 0.6 is three times that of 103.9 (not a great signal at present, but better than Wink's), and also three times that of Salem talk 98.9's initial share.  That said, I still wouldn't be surprised to see Wink flip to sports, but if better ratings is the goal I don't know why they would.  It might make more sense if the displaced country listeners were going to gravitate to sister K95.5, but that's not the case here given that Wink is new county and K95.5 is heavy on traditional.

It doesn't matter what format 107.1 has. As long as it's a rimshot it's not going to get good ratings. And I'm guessing they'll run CBS Sports Radio's entire lineup, with no local content, so I don't see how a 1.5 would be possible.

The problem with rim shot signals is "general market everyone doing it" formats don't work well on them (Why would someone listen to new country with static when WCOL's signal is crystal clear etc..) Look at 106.3 they fill a niche and have a loyal following and despite 106.3 shortcomings have respectable numbers in the PPMs.

I was just guesstimating on what Sports COULD do on 107.1. No matter, 107.1 flips every few years anyhow. Somehow, when I used to live near the eastern edge of Clark County, I used to be able to pick up 107.1 reasonably well, depending on the time of day, back when 107.1 was Hot/Kiss-FM.

Has anyone checked if they're stunting today? Tomorrow is the national launch date for CBS Sports Radio. As a Browns fan, I'll listen if they have some local programming from Cleveland, otherwise I'll never touch that frequency with only a national presence.

Well, they just better not try a "Secrets" format on any of them, that's all I can say. Even though I've never heard it before, that show, and just the very nature of the idea behind it, makes me sick to my stomach. And I know that the general public feels the same way.

Not stunting at the moment, just played a Taylor Swift song. Website is still up.

They just had a post about what concerts do listeners want to see, and how they might have tickets for some of them. My response was "Come on now. Multiple sources are saying you're switching to a sports format tomorrow. Don't tease people."

I see no reason a small-potatoes player like WNKK should consider it important to keep an upcoming flip quiet for a day -- or even a week.  I find it hard to believe anything they do --or don't do -- during that time would spur a sudden competitive response or a mass defection of listeners (to the extent there is any listener mass to defect).

ETA: Looks like that Facebook exchange has been deleted.

Why bother stunting on a station that is pretty much automated jockless with few listeners to begin with? My guess is the Wide Orbit Automation PC will segue from a country song into "CBS Sports Radio" at some point after a Legal ID with no more than a Wink.
