CBS Sports Radio coming to 107.1?

Currently sports in town is covered by WBNS which is ESPN and 1230 which is Fox Sports.. CBS is as many on this board might know launching a 24/7 Sports Radio Network 1/2/13...

On a side note with K95.5 doing Christmas.. It makes you wonder what tweaks or directions will happen there too.

Could another surprise be the demise of QFM? Makes you wonder with those awful ratings lately. Just a guess.

QFM96 has started sprinkling in some of the older tunes (including 60's) and poppier tunes that they had pretty much abandoned years ago. But I doubt that's part of a major evolution or precursor to a format change.

I'll be suprised if we see QFM change.. but then again stranger things have happened..

My guess is we likely see a change with K95.5 and with 107.1 (as mentioned).

Could we see a Jack type format on 95.5?

Here in this boring market, any change is a surprise I guess. :-\

I am looking at 2 positives with 107.1 flipping to CBS Sports.
1) One less Country station.
2) With this being a large Cleveland Browns market, hopefully we get some programming from 92.3 The Fan CBS Cleveland.

Here is the lineup for CBS Sports Radio. If they don't offer some kind of local or regional programming then I predict this will fail.

CBS Sports Radio’s full, comprehensive weekday schedule:

6:00-9:00 AM: Tiki Barber, Brandon Tierney and Dana Jacobson

9:00AM-12:00 Noon: John Feinstein

12:00Noon-3:00PM: Jim Rome

3:00-6:00PM: Doug Gottlieb

6:00-10:00PM: Chris Moore and Brian Jones

10:00PM-2:00AM: Scott Ferrall

2:00-6:00AM: Damon Amendolara

The Auto Smarts radio show, on K95 and 107.1, announced this morning that it is moving from K95 and 107.1. As of January 5, 2013 it is moving over to TVM.
They are moving over to TVN, from 8:00AM to 10:00AM on Saturdays. The same time they were
on K95 and 107.1. He went on to say, for the best in country stay tuned both to K95 and WINK 107.1, as if both stations are going to stay country. Makes me wonder if one of both will change formats.

Here is the show website:

Currently Jim Rome is on 1230.

Makes you wonder?

This all makes sense to me now after reading this post on the Cleveland board:

After the first of the year, Rome leaves Premiere and goes to CBS Sports Radio. I highly doubt CBS is gonna want to have a guy that will be part of their roster being heard on their competition.

While I almost never listen to open phones on WTVN, the auto show in that slot will not bring me aboard. I can drive my car and put gas in it, and that is all I care about cars.

I do like the garden call-in show when I remember it is on. I learn some stuff there that I can put to good use.

At least two hours of Sat Morning Open phones going away. There will be people with torches. Especially if the whole 4 go.......but 2 will make some folks crazy.

I think Sat am open phones has been a tradition since Bob moved to monrings. He started taking calls on Saturday afternoon and moved it to mornings when he replaced Fraim in 79.

Yes and No.. There are a few situations that Rome is remaining on competition... even station that air FSR.. HOWEVER the fact he's being listed on Wink leads me to believe that 107.1 will be changing formats to carry the network and not just airing his show.

Let's see, pay someone to do open phones or get paid to play a 2 hour Autosmarts info-commercial.... easy decision for Clear Channel.

I don't see both changing formats. K95.5 seems to like playing that country for SE Ohio even though there's plenty of choices for country there too. 107.1 I expect to go away absolutely.

I agree with you on 95.5, although I hope we're wrong.
