CBS Sports Radio coming to 107.1?

I don't see both changing formats. K95.5 seems to like playing that country for SE Ohio even though there's plenty of choices for country there too.

I agree with you on 95.5, although I hope we're wrong.

What format would they put on 955 that would compete in SE Ohio as well? I would love to see them try CHR but if they have a limited staff now, they wouldn't try it going against WNCI. Jack FM? They did take Bob FM off 1015 down there in Gallipolis which reached well into Athens. I just don't see them using J.D. and Lee, but instead Dial Global. But is Dial Global exclusive to any stations in Columbus?

I'm not familiar with the competitive scenario in SE Ohio. I believe NABCO has ended its longtime association with Dial Global for now, but I don't think it was exclusive anyway.

Exclusivity for format is specific to format not company.. so two different groups int his market could air Dial global formats. Just not the same exact format.

This all makes sense to me now after reading this post on the Cleveland board:

After the first of the year, Rome leaves Premiere and goes to CBS Sports Radio. I highly doubt CBS is gonna want to have a guy that will be part of their roster being heard on their competition.

Yes and No.. There are a few situations that Rome is remaining on competition... even station that air FSR.. HOWEVER the fact he's being listed on Wink leads me to believe that 107.1 will be changing formats to carry the network and not just airing his show.

Yes, I agree with you after reading that Rome is going over to CBS Sports Radio. I as not aware that Rome was leaving Premier Radio at first.

On the flip side, if WNNK 107.1 was going to do sports, that would leave Columbus with four signals doing all sports. They would be 1230, 1460, 97.1 and 107.1 doing all sports. Not to mention three stations on FM doing some kind of a talk format. Hard to believe all the sports stations and all the talk on the FM dial in Columbus. Not to mention we still believe WTVN will be on the FM by the end of next year.

"Hard to believe" essentially defines Columbus radio, so I wouldn't be surprised at all if that's what we end up with.  Nonsensical scenarios that you rarely find elsewhere tend to be the rule rather than the exception around here.  Sad but true.

But then I'm criticized for thinking way outside the Columbus box and am told "Oh, but your idea would never work on commercial radio." So I say you all deserve what you all get. I guess as long as I'm part of the WCRS world, I really don't need to be a part of yours.

What you fail to realize is that just because you have an out of box idea, it doesn't mean that it's a good one.

What you fail to realize is how many fans groups like the Beatles, the B-52's, the Rolling Stones, and R.E.M. have here.

Should we expect something new at 12am is the question?

CBS Sports Radio isn't supposed to launch nationwide until Jan 2, 2013 so I'm going to guess that they start stunting on the 29th.

I venture to say that WHOK will stay Country if Wink becomes CBS sportsradio. Now we have 4 FMs that will be talking this year.

I agree K95 stays country will very little to no local voices. 107.1 doesn't have enough coverage area to do much with sports, just a cheap way to program one of our many rimshot signals. QFM will continue to float along, hey they've added a 100 songs to their playlist. WMNI is a failure, Hal should have already flipped it to Jack-FM.

K95.5's back to "New Country and the Legends" as of 12:00 am... Guess no format change for 95.5... We'll have to see how much Christmas helped or hurt their PPM ratings though.

I still think 107.1 will go sports on 1/2/13...

If 95.5 stays the same then what did mxyzptlk mean by saying that the change at 107.1 "won't be the only surprise"?

Could we actually see a change at QFM?

^ There are many variables at play. It probably happen so don't give it too much thought. ;)

I really don't know this for sure but I can't see Q changing format. I could see a tweak in mornings sometime in the new year given the past 8 months of ratings.

It appears there are missing posts. I responded to one and neither the original question by iheartsiriusxm nor my answer is here.

They were missing last night and now they're back. I believe this site was being attacked the last couple of days and that might be the reason for the missing posts. There were a couple of times when I got a warning but I ignored them both times.

As of this moment the posts mxyzptlk refer to are gone again (but may be back by the time you read this). This may be a reprise of an issue R-D had an issue awhile back where some posts would go through an unpredictable disappear-reappear cycle.

BTW, the now-gone "don't enter!" warnings I got from Firefox/Google (and once from Norton) cited some pretty nasty stuff so I stayed away just to be on the safe side.  Might not hurt do a virus and/or Malwarebytes scan just on the off chance you ended up with some sort of surreptitious infection.
