CBS Sports Radio coming to 107.1?

The Jim Rome show wasn't on 1230 AM this afternoon. So it and CBS Sports radio may still wind up on 107.1 at some point in time?
What station has the rights to the Jim Rome show at this pint in time anyway?

Don't foget this is Wilks. It wouldn't be outside the realm of possibilty for them to screw up a launch.

So I guess the surprise was that they didn't flip 107.1 to sports.

Here's the news on 107.1... Alan Goodman is gone (his choice) from running Wilks. He was the driving force behind the change at 107.1 and some recommended changes at Q. Plans on hold for now.

What was he planning on changing at Q? ??? Wow, Wilks has been through a ton of GMs. IIRC, former WGTZ/Dayton GM Don Griffin was there for a very short time a year or so ago.

Does that mean Q might backtrack on changes they've already made? Sure doesn't sound like it thus far...they seem to be mixing in even more 60's and pop-rock stuff than even a week ago. E.g., I just heard these songs back-to-back: House of the Rising Sun, Green-Eyed Lady, Space Oddity and Life Is A Highway.

I don't see how this can work in this market, on this frequency. Not when 97.1 has the rights to Ohio State and the Blue Jackets and has local talent from noon-6pm, I believe. 107.1 and 1230 are going to be fighting over a 0.2 share.

But, if it makes money for Wilks to do this, then more power to them.

I don't see how it works either without feeds from 92.3 The Fan out of Cleveland. If they can tap into Columbus' huge Cleveland Browns fan base then they might have a chance.

The signal will limit what ever sports can bring to 107.1, doubt they will do anything local. They need to get busy working on QFM before it fades away. Does anyone know what changes they were planning?

Giving that they have been running spots hammering Q's heritage (36th anniversary on Feb 14), it appears unlikely that they were/are planning an outright format change.

I was thinking yesterday, why didn't RadiOhio grab CBS Sports Radio and put it on 1460, and keep the ESPN Radio affiliate for 97.1? In Cincinnati Clear Channel has both the ESPN and Fox Sports Radio affiliates, so it is allowable.

ESPN is a well known product as is Fox Sports at this moment. CBS Sports Radio has been around just 22 days. i think Radiohio would rather have a well known line up on 1460 rather than a still realitive unknown product in CBS SPorts Radio. other than Rome & Ferral on the bench. what does CBS sports radio thats a well known entity
