CBS to Televise WFAN's Boomer & Carton Morning Show

The CBS Sports Network will simulcast the WFAN Sports Talk Show in January 2014.
From 6:00am to 10:00 am EST. Yes they will cover the New York Sports Teams in general but will expand to the national audience.
 
This seems like a terrible idea. The Fan's strength has always been being local. They can't serve two masters. Either they go mostly generic and lose the NY audience or go mostly NY-centric and lose the national audience. They can't do both. Given the numbers, who do you think is going to lose?
