CD10-whatever's already clinched runner-up, though, and in record time. Apparently they really covet that booby-prize.
OhioMediaWatch said:As for the legality of the WWCD legal ID on 102.5, they could well be throwing in a quick "WCVZ Baltimore" elsewhere, and that can be their legal ID, no? And the FCC would have no problem with the "extra" currently-not-on-the-license WWCD Baltimore, particularly since they are in the process of changing to it.

Ha! That one is small potatoes compared to (dare I say it), "Is WVKO in trouble?"
the marv said:The reason I think the station hasn't dropped the CD101 name is because when the owner 1st bought the station he did just that dropped the logo. He also added mainstream music to the station which caused alot of listener backlash. I remember reading The Other Paper and in the letters they received it was loaded by people complaining about how bad the station had become. The station at that time was just simply calling itself 101.
"The answer remains the same as before. We are aware of CD 101 still using “101” in their announcements. We are giving them a week or two of transition time before we go pointing to contracts."

Why in the space/time continuum would CD101, voted the city’s best radio station for 16 consecutive years by Columbus Monthly magazine readers, give up such a huge part of its brand?

Rieland couldn’t speculate the number of 101 fans that would stick around for the classical music, but he said he personally listens to both.
Heck, they’ll probably convert more 101 fans than WNCI ever could.
