Hint: It's around October because it was very close to Canadian Thanksgiving. I've also narrowed it to those years mentioned above because further back on the tape, which you won't hear, is a song that more or less coincides with the last train running the island in 1988. There's still a service in western Labrador (which starts and ends in Quebec) but it's small.
I'm not sure what else might be sitting on my old audio tapes, especially that I acquired a box of them about a year and a half ago.
