CH.8 WFAA-TV:WHEN WILL THEY LEARN BRAD HAWKINS CAN NOT BE A SOLO ANCHOR?

Yesterday at 6P,Today at 5:30pm, and tonight at 10 PM Brad starts to pronounce a name or word, stops suddenly, then starts over again pronouncing that same name or word. he never does it when he is a co-anchor. He never does it as an on site reporter, only when he occupies the anchor desk by himself. This has gone on over a year. What is the problem? He fumbles over words. Does he truly do any prep,or is he coming in 30 min.before the newscast then 15 min. later he looks up at the clock and he preps? Whatever it is ,it has gone on far enough and they need to solve his problem. That or change his name to Mel Tillis.

'Plex, the way you're fixating on Brad, I'm beginning to think you have a man-crush...
Of course, I know Brad and like him a lot. He's a smart fellow, very handsome, with no big anchor-ego.
(Hmm, maybe I'm the one with the man-crush!)

Well, PLEX has a point... he is a stammering fiend that would rather get his eyebrows waxed than focus on current events. Seen it in action... jittery when riding solo. Then again, most do, but it's bad with Hawkins (had to go with last name reference to avoid the stupid iambic pentameter there).

And speaking of man crush, word is Brad has enough of those on his own. Oh well, to each his own. ;D

Grant LOL. Nope. I just believe an anchor should know their copy tbefore reading it. Brad is a good field reporter, and he does okay as a co-anchor but when he is by himself, well its stuttering time. Nervous? Most likely, but why? He has been doing the news at Ch.8 for quite sometime. He needs to prep better if he is to continue being an anchor. I can forgive an occassional slip once in awhile, but not constant.

It appears that Mr KPLEX seems to manfancy Young Master Hawkins. ;)

On an objective note, Brad seems to do well with Shelly Slater. The ideal place, until he goes to anti-stammering classes or a shrink, is to keep him with a co-anchor.

Absolutely he is better a as a "CO-anchor" not a solo and like I said he is a good field reporter.
