Mexican actor Xavier López, better known as Chabelo, has announced the end of his "En Familia" program next Dec. 20, after 48 years of continuous broadcasts on the Televisa network.
"Everything in life has its cycle, a beginning and an end," Chabelo said in a video posted on his Twitter account and on the YouTube channel after weeks of rumors about where the program was headed.
"En Familia," which premiered in 1968, "will go off the air next December 20," Chabelo said.
"One cycle ends and another begins, a new cycle that I hope when it is announced, you'll all be with me once again," the actor said in the message to his "cuates" (pals), as he tends to call his audience.
