Channel 12 5:00 news piece on KPHX host (Katrina related)

...anyone catch it? Anyone comment?...

Other than it's great he got out of there and he's doing well here, there's not much to comment about. It was a pretty short segment of the Katrina-anniversary story.

For those who missed it, the story aired at 5:06, right after Mark & Lin Sue's McBland impersonation: Is it hot where you are? ;D

Local host Herb "Sarge" Phelps -- New Orleans transplant since May -- on Sunday mornings (Mike Maloy who? Mark Curtis never mentioned the radio staion! Only mentioned KPHX which is Ch.12's calls).

BFD. Lame. Boring, slow-ass moving interview. Non-compelling angle tied to Katrina's 2-year anniversary. "Human interest" is what news directors would call this piece. Always gotta be a valley connection, huh!? (Here's something to make you overthink: Any valley connection to Idaho Rep. Sen. Larry Craig?! Your head-scratching is deafening!!).

P.S. Anyone have a clip of that Pat McBland impersonation? He's a radio version of Merv Griffin: So full of himself!

Mc12 is KPNX Mesa/Phoenix (although they'd like you to believe
that "Mesa" doesn't exist).

KPHX is the big 1480 (well, as "big" as one can be with 5000/500
up there toward the high end of the dial).
