CHANNEL 955 DECIDED TO GO MORE MAINSTREAM AFTER THEY HEARD THE AMP RADIO RUMOR

Channel 955 stopped playing so much hip hop, and started to go mainstream after the AMP Radio rumor of a new CHR at 98.7 FM came out last Spring.

Channel 955 started playing songs by artist that they would never ever play like Taylor Swift a country artist.

Clear Channel also launched 106.7 The beat to play some new CHR Hits mixed with Dance hits and oldies like disco from the 70's, Madonna from the 80's and 90's pop hits which are rhythemic.

Uhhh...the Amp station has nothing to do with them adding Taylor Swift, or Kings Of Leon to the playlist. Those songs are doing great on the charts. A few years ago, Natasha Beddingfields "Unwritten" was in the playlist. It was not even close to hip-hop.

I completely agree with Mac Daddy. Even Rhythmic CHRs like Wild 94.9 San Francisco, Power 96 Miami, and Hot 97.5 Las Vegas are playing Taylor Swift. Hell, Power 96 has even added Kings of Leon.

B96 also plays Kings of Leon, too. That said, I'd like see if Channel 955 does add more rock and pop music to their list as a result of Amp. They're a heartbeat away from being a rhythmic station.
