Chaos on Boston Radio a Gift to WGBH and WBUR Radio

While the commercial radio station are in complete turmoil for the next few years the stability of our outstanding PBS stations, WGBH-FM 89.7 and WBUR-FM 90.9, will allow them to prosper to an even greater degree. The professional news staff of both stations are growing. Phil Redo and Joe Mathieu are just two examples of commercial radio personnel who have migrated to PBS. Tom Ashbrook on WBUR's outstanding "On Point" and Jim Braude and Margery Egan on WGBH-FM 89.7 "Boston Public Radio" have been handed a mega gift with the upcoming instability of commercial radio in Boston. If whoever takes over the powerhouse signal of WBZ Radio AM 1030 and dismantles its 'go-to' news format for something cut rate or syndicated the PBS affiliates here in the Boston market will grow even more with their demonstrated stability and they will become the 'go-to' stations for credible news programming. Again, Public Broadcasting in the Boston market has been handed a mega gift by the turmoil in Boston's commercial radio.

Don't say PBS to refer 89.7 WGBH and 90.9 WBUR. Use NPR. If you meant PBS, then it would've said WGBH-TV 2 and WGBX-TV 44.

Egan and Braude are not and never were in " prime morning drive time".

The poster wrote that he tuned in to hear Joe Matheau and all he heard was him doing a promo for Egan and Braude during morning drive.

You make missing the point an art form.
11 to 2 is not primetime, or morning drive!
Morning drive shows start at 5:00AM, and run until 9:00AM , or sometimes 10:00

Exactly WHICH point did I miss in my post re Eagan and Braude?

All I'm saying is I enjoyed them more in AM drive on WTKK when they were allowed to be a bit more carefree and crazy. Most of the banter in which they engaged THEN would likely not fly with the higher-brow 'GBH audience.
