Charity McCurdy - New Morning News Anchor for WOAI!

Charity McCurdy - New Morning News Anchor for WOAI!

Charity's passion and hard work has brought her up through the ranks of WOAI. Now, she's a top reporter for San Antonio's award winning radio news team.

Charity McCurdy began her career with Clear Channel Broadcasting in August of 2002. Initially, she worked in the Promotions Department where she represented all local Clear Channel radio stations including, Mix 96.1, KJ 97, Soft Rock 101.9, WOAI, and Ticket 760. A few months later, Charity accepted an opportunity to work in the WOAI and Ticket 760 studios as Technical Director where she aired syndicated programs and sports events.

Realizing her potential, Charity was asked to produce live shows on WOAI and Ticket 760. In this role, she worked with various shows such as San Antonio's First News, Spurs Game Night React, The Golf Show and The Garden Show. Charity's experience in radio, talent, and perseverance landed her current position as a WOAI News Reporter. While thoroughly enjoying her daily activities and involvement in the community, Charity has had the opportunity to cover a variety of local and national stories. You can listen to Charity weekday mornings on San Antonio's First News from 5 am to 9 am.

oops... sorry... I think that's the first thread I've opened on this board and I can't believe I forgot the link... :p

Won't happen again! ;)

The bio is so much BS. Let's hope "Cherty McCurdy" gets the pay she deserves. She has worked hard to make it.

I hope that Charity likes discussing American Idol and the Spurs, since those seem to be the favored fallback topics of the WOAI First News. If she does, she'll fit right in there.

This seems to be a long "vacation" for First News frontman Joe Pags. I think I saw him hosting a show on CNN last week (Glenn Beck?) when I was flipping around the cable TV dial. Some vacation.

In response to the comment about discussing American Idol or other dribble, if WOAI is a Clear channel station, just like KTRH in Houston, why can't WOAI have the same quality news as the latter? When I listen to KTRH I hear lots of local, state and national news and traffic reports. When I listen to WOAI, which is very infrequently, it seems that they're reading articles out of some supermarket tabloid. Even when I listen to KLBJ AM it seems more mature and intelligent than what we have available. Maybe its a local CC policy, because the local sports(?) show on KTKR is just as bad, lately discussing the best video games, with pro football right around the corner. And advertisers wonder why no one listens to the radio anymore.

This is an incorrect statement- "And advertisers wonder why no one listens to the radio anymore."

Radio reach has barely diminished, Time Spent Listening is off though. This is a mis-conception coming from Wall Street and ad agencies.
