Top 5+ demo rankings analysis from Research Director, Inc./XTrends will be available on Fri. 2/23/2024.

Kiss has caught down to Hits with both essentially tied. As I’ve said before, Kiss being essentially in “morning show mode” until noon every day is not a good move. I get why they wanted to add Ace and TJ, but Beasley is invested in Maney & Lauren so it might be a good idea to drop Ace & TJ when the time comes.

Nice job for 92.7 - moving the WFNZ brand there has paid off. 107.9 seems to be making a comeback, while no post-Christmas high for 102.9.

The problem with Kiss and Hits might be the music more than the shows. The younger generation is more focused on their own playlists and Spotify.

Ace & TJ aren’t the problem. Kiss wins in morning drive and middays. WHQC wins in afternoons and evenings.

What numbers are you looking at? I don't see a great comeback for WLNK 107.9. Overall they are just a tenth of a point ahead of WFNZ.

Same ones, IMO 2.7 > 3.0 > 3.4 is decent. Better direction than some of the other stations are going. They had been at a low point, even for them.

WLNK bottomed out at 2.7. They’ve been in the 3’s for a while. They just came back up to where they were. It’s pretty sad that the strongest signal in the market was only getting a 2.7. They’re not top 5 in any demo.

LNK had an up month with outstanding cume growth and total week rankers. #1 W18-34 #1W25-54 #2P25-54 #3 P6+. For the entire week, Mix was T#5 Women 25-54 in share and T#3 Women 25-54 in rating. Every depart was up with W25-54. Evenings grew as I was T#3 in share Women 25-54, T#2 in share Women 25-44 and T#4 in share Women 35-54.
Personally, I have no complaints..onward, upward..Just keep living.

And there's no other true AC. How are they not getting more listeners?

People listen to a variety of stations and formats. If the AC is not particularly strong, many will listen to all kinds of other formats such as country, AC, Hot AC, oldies, classic hits and even CHR and R&B formats. When there is more than one station in a market in a format, listeners often don't listen to both; they have one favorite in each of several formats.

What numbers are you looking at? I don’t see anything close to what you’re talking about.

That doesn’t match what I seeing. If you scroll up to the top of this thread, you’ll see that WSOC was #2 25-54 in January. Don’t know where you’re getting these #s from.
not sure what to tell you. I have the print out from aforementioned source in front of my face. I have the day parts broken down hourly and monthly. The ratings posted above are not broken down.

Cume or quarter hour? If you're talking cume then WLNK is #3 overall. However quarter hour is quite a bit lower!
my original post says cume (and I am not sure why it is replying to both of you)

I was surprised by this comment at first, but then I took a look at K104.7's playlist and must agree regarding the "no other true AC" comment!

K104.7's music log is indicative of a classic hits format to me. Perhaps they still call themselves "AC" for reporting or sales purposes, but that is absolutely a classic hits-style playlist. When did they pivot music-wise?
