Charlotte Ratings May 2025 - Mix 107.9 Makes The Top 5

Four months ago WLNK had a 3.0, now they have a 5.6, and their cume leads all other stations in the market, too! I've always had a theory that Urban One would move WBT or even WFNZ to 107.9, but I guess at this rate, that's not happening for the foreseeable future.

Meanwhile the Fox, which had a 5.9 in second place three months ago, now sits at 3.4, in 14th place.

And K104.7 is up 1.6 points and takes the market lead.

K104 has definitely resolved the issues they were having last year. Seems like they’re drawing listeners from The Lake, which is still mediocre in ratings compared to the past few years.

Glad to see Mix 107.9 doing well!
 
The 3 minute change has definitely helped WKQC, WLNK, WNKS. Beasley also fired John Reynolds, so he can’t screw the stations up with his dumb programming philosophy anymore. WSOC seems to be doing just fine without him.
 
Agreed the effects of the 3-minute rule are likely in play here. I don’t believe K, Mix, or KISS significantly changed any of their programming or music mix over the past year. The only difference on K was the few months when Ace & TJ were on. The music on K is all over the place, but I guess it works! I noticed them using the phrase “Just Great Songs” now.

I think KQC started sounding better middle of last year. I thought Ace and TJ would help with the ratings, but they were actually a drag. Numbers went up after they were dropped. I do think they should tighten up a little musically.

LKO has been sounding stale to me recently. They need to freshen up the music a little bit, and I think they would go back up. I don’t listen to LNK or NKS, so I don’t know what they’re doing or not doing.

OAN, has anybody listened to KKT’s new morning show? Whoever made that decision needs to be fired immediately. Almost as bad as Miguel and Holly.
