Charlotte Ratings September 2025 - RnB, 'SOC Knock K104.7 Out Of The Top Spot

Last month, we know both Adult R&B stations were gaining traction on K104.7, which more often than not finished No. 1. Well, "105.3 RnB" WOSF (their call sign a reference to their previous "Old School" branding) has climbed all the way to No. 1. (Has that ever happened for this frequency?) K104.7 is down to third, between Beasley sisters Country 103.7 WSOC, and the other Adult R&B station in the equation, V101.9 WBAV. The Lake, flat at 6.0, rises from 6th to 5th.

Biggest dropper in the ratings period? Mix 107.9 - again! They went from 4.5 in June to 3.1 in July, then rebounded to 4.9 in August, finishing in 9th place. September? They're down to 3.2, all the way down to 16th place. I wasn't listening; how much money were they giving away in August? (FWIW, they came in 4th in cume.)

Biggest gainer in the ratings period? This might surprise you: Hits 96.1! With a rise of almost a full ratings point (2.5 to 3.4) WHQC rises to a 13th place tie with WFNZ. With Kiss in 10th place, one wonders: is there a new CHR battle brewing?

I wonder how many people still listen to radio for music. The iPod generation has their own playlists on their cell phones which they take everywhere. Soon cars won't have AM or FM just a USB jack. After all you don't see CD players in cars anymore.

A lot of carmakers (Porsche, Mazda, Audi, Dodge just to name a few) have wi-fi built in, and a lot of carmakers have had Bluetooth/Apple CarPlay/Android Auto as part of their infotainment systems for years, which is what most people use to stream. I think most people use car USB ports for charging their phone.
