Cheapest way to listen to your Sirius receiver at home

I don't want to pay X amount of $ for a home kit. I want to listen to my Sirius car radio in the house. What's the cheapest converter around? (I guess it's a DC to AC converter?) Is there a standard A/C adapter that would fit the XACT visor? If yes, could you pick it up at Radio Shack?

what about subscribing to Dish Network? You get satellite for what....50 bucks a month and all the Sirius channels for free?

I had Dish Network in the past and I'll pass. I'll take Direct TV over the Dish Network. Direct TV is much better. Last time I checked Dish didn't carry the Yes Network.

I'm not sure on the voltage on the Visor, so check for the right amount before purchase. My gf uses one of these for her cell phone (she only has a car charger) and it works perfectly.

I suppose this isn't the forum...

What did you find better about DirecTV over Dish?

I've had em both and don't see any advantage to either....except if you prefer XM, go with Direct. If you prefer Sirius, go with Dish

If your xact has the exact power requirements in terms of voltage, amperage and polarity and the power jack is one of the several standards there are converters like this one:

http://www.voltageconverters.com/ac_dc.html

But if you apply wrong power you could kill or shorten life of your receiver.

They got AC-DC converters that plug into 120 converts it to cigarette lighter plug then you dont have to worry about voltage. Here's one on amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...4139-2287149?_encoding=UTF8&v=glance&n=228013

They may be cheaper if you hunt the inet but at this cost why not buy a home kit.

Thanks! I got this sucker to work!

Thanks for your info. I wasn't in the mood to waste $50 bucks for a home kit. Prior to seeing your message I went to Radio Shack & Wal-Mart. Radio Shack was out of one of the plugs. Wal-Mart has the Digital Universal AC Adapter (3-12 volts/1300 mA) by PowerLine. Costs about $ 16 (plus tax). It's working for me! Just hope it doesn't blow up!

This guy doesn't want to spend a few dollars on a home kit for his radio.
He probably figured out which satellite TV service would be cheaper to the last decimal!
Whom or what is this "Yes" network?<P ID="signature">______________

It's a regional sports network that televises Yankees games and is owned by Steinbrenner. Not sure what the acronym stands for. Sometimes referred to as "Al-Yankzeera".

Actually, I have a home kit for Sirius and I have DirecTV (XM) so I can hear both. THat wasn't my intentions (since Direct just added that feature) but it works out...I was just responding to the dude who wanted to save a buck, but that was a good one!
